To those of you following what's going on with my spinal surgery. Unfortunately the insurance company has first denied the operation, then they okayed the surgery yesterday morning. So we have rescheduled the operation to next tuesday.

We got it in last night up at Mercer Raceway Park. The pits were packed with cars. Unfortunately I am pretty sure I hurt the motor in the B main and dropped out mid race. That said, my surgery date is set for October 6th for a double spinal fusion from L3 to T10. Unfortunately that will have me laid up for the best part of the winter. I am hoping for a full recovery and being able to be back in the seat next season of racing. Thank you to everyone for your support through this past season. I have had a great time out there at the tracks and have met so many great fellow racers this year. I am looking forward to good conversations and sharing laughter with all of you again. Well, I put some work in today, the car is ready for Friday nights show at Mercer Raceway Park. Tomorrow the surgery date will be set. By golly, I am going to give it one more go before, I get laid up for a couple months. Thank you to all who have helped out through out the season. Lets go have a little fun this friday! Brendan.

Well, with the cancelation of the race tonight my season is over. Now it is time to schedule the spinal fusion and rebuild for next season. This past saturday I took the 662 up to Blanket Hill to feel the car out looking for a couple problems. Yes, the doctor said I could drive. I am trying to hold off on surgery until after the Stivason Memorial race, after that is done then I will be laid up for a fair stretch. Thank you to my sponsors. Update on spinal fracture.
That was an old fracture in the x rays but... I will be having another spinal fusion surgery done in the very near future. The L2 vertebrae has slid back toward the spinal cord and is causing serious pain and weakness in my legs. The doctor said, " I will operate on you next week." Then asked if I have had physical therapy yet. Nope, I haven't and guess what insurance demands before they approve surgery. So, I am going to see if physical therapy helps or hinders and will go from there.

What can I say 🤷 racing is racing and things break or come apart when we least expect them to. I feel bad that it played out the way it did last night for my driver. I expected that car to give him a good ride and well, it fell on its face from word go. It made me sick and mad at the car all in one. In turn I felt I had to make it right and pushed myself in between the guys that were there to help. For that I am sorry. It has never been in my nature to let pain or s**t being broke to stop progression even though the outcome could be catastrophic. Last night the car got loaded up and taken home after we found the issues that prevented us from having a good night. Landon Goss, thank you for being responsible and for being the driver that you are ! You knew the car was not happy and you took it off the track rather than risking it. That is commendable and you are a way better driver in my book for that decision! I wanted nothing more than to be able to make it right for you and give you the ride you deserved. Once I get through my own issues and get this car rebuilt and ready you are the first guy to get in the seat and rip it , if you wish to do so. As it is and the way things are Tuff Nuff Racing #662 is done till next season. Thank you again. Brendan
