Eternal Arts Kung Fu

Eternal Arts Kung Fu Eternal Arts Kung Fu is a traditional Chinese Martial Arts studio teaching MiZong LoHan Northern Kung Fu, Fu BaGua and Wu Family TaiChi and Canada.

My Jhong Law Horn (Mizong Luohan) is an external style, with distinct internal influences. It draws on many aspects of the external Northern Shaolin Long Fist style, and the internal styles T'ai Chi Ch'uan , Pa Kua Chang and Hsing I Ch'uan, with which it is often taught in modern times. It is characterized by deceptive hand movements, intricate footwork, varied kicks, and high leaps. In execution,

the style changes very quickly. The emphasis on flexibility in Northern Shaolin styles is a guiding principle of Mizong, and this is evident in the versatility of its attacks and the extent to which it integrates the concepts of many internal styles. An increased emphasis on mobility often comes at the price of power, but Mizong compensates for this by providing a means for the dynamic generation of power. Mizong's unique fa jing (discharging of force) comes from the combination of the internal corkscrew power seen in Chen style Tai Chi Chuan and the external snapping power of Shaolin Long Fist. The result is the efficient generation of force through the dynamic motion of multiple elements of the body, the mastery of which gives a Mizong practitioner the capability of generating force quickly and flexibly from any distance. This system was presided over by Grandmaster Yeh Yu Teng in the twentieth century until his death in 1962 at the age of 70. A number of his students, among them Master Chi-Hung Marr, and Master Johnny Lee emigrated to the North America and have continued to teach this system in locations around the U.S.

Learn the application for one of the most common kung fu saber techniques called wrapping. This is a staple move and most Chinese martial arts and you can also find it modified in different arts like Hema and other non eastern arts albeit a little different

The cloud wrapping that we do also supports bracing the saver against the arm for a stronger block.

One of the most rewarding things about teaching kids isn’t watching them learn a punch or a kick.

It’s watching them realize they can do something they didn’t think they could do.

Sometimes it’s a stance they’ve been struggling with.

Sometimes it’s remembering a sequence they’ve been working on for weeks.

Sometimes it’s simply having the confidence to stand in front of the class and give it their best effort.

Those moments don’t usually happen all at once.

They happen because a student keeps showing up, keeps practicing, and keeps trying even when something is difficult.

That’s one of the biggest lessons martial arts has to offer.

Not that you’ll get everything right the first time.

But that effort, consistency, and perseverance pay off.

As an instructor, that’s the growth I enjoy seeing most.

The techniques are important.

The confidence they build along the way is even more important.

If you’ve been thinking about martial arts for your child, we’d love to have them come try a class and experience it for themselves.

One of my favorite things to hear from a new student is:

“Wait, class is already over?”

Most people know they should work out. The problem is that a lot of workouts are boring. You’re watching the clock, counting reps, staring at a treadmill, and waiting for it to be done.

Kung Fu is different.

You’re too busy learning.

One minute you’re working on footwork. Then you’re practicing techniques with a partner. Then you’re trying to remember a sequence from a form. Before you know it, the hour is gone.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, you got a heck of a workout.

You leave class sweaty, breathing hard, and wondering where the time went.

That’s one of the reasons people stick with martial arts for years. They come for the workout, but they stay because they’re learning something.

If you’ve ever been curious about Kung Fu, come try a week of classes. At the very least you’ll get a great workout. You might even find something you’ll still be doing ten years from now.

The hardest part is walking through the door the first time. After that, the training takes care of the rest. If you’ve been thinking about trying Kung Fu, come join us for a week and experience it for yourself!
