Valley City Public Schools Announces Chase Carpenter as Head Boys Basketball Coach
Valley City, ND —
Valley City Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Chase Carpenter as the next Head Boys Basketball Coach at Valley City High School.
A 2013 graduate of VCHS, Carpenter returns home to lead the Hi-Liners after a successful playing and coaching career. During his time as a student-athlete at Valley City High School, Carpenter earned All-State honors in 2013 and became a member of the prestigious 1,000-point club. He continued his athletic career at Valley City State University, competing in both basketball and baseball from 2013–2018 while earning a bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education with a minor in Coaching.
Carpenter brings seven years of coaching experience to the position and a deep understanding of the game, along with a passion for developing student-athletes on and off the court.
“Coming back to Valley City High School, a place that played such an important role in my life, is incredibly meaningful,” said Carpenter. “I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead the boys basketball program at my alma mater. Valley City has a proud tradition, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, school, and community. My goal is to build a program centered on hard work, accountability, toughness, and pride in representing Valley City.”
Valley City Public Schools is especially excited to welcome a Hi-Liner back to lead the program. Carpenter’s roots in the community, combined with his experience and vision, make him a strong fit to guide the future of Hi-Liner basketball.
“We are thrilled to bring Chase back to Valley City,” said Rob Hunt. “There is something special about having a former Hi-Liner return to coach. He understands what this program and community mean, and we are excited for the energy and direction he will bring.
There is a team meeting for current players on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 PM in the HAC lobby.
