As the school year comes to an end, it is time for the WCHS/MS XC teams to start our off-season conditioning program. Cross County off season conditioning and Flex Days are open to any Webster County student entering 6th through 12th grade! The June calendar is below with times and locations. If you have any questions or are interested in joining us, please feel free to message us on this page or you can reach out to Coach Brandon Green via text at 304-619-4405 or through Messenger as well.

Even if you don't think Cross Country is for you come check us out, we work hard but we have a lot of fun! The most common phrase I hear from new runners is "I wish I would have started running XC sooner!" Don't be the next person to regret missing seasons that you would have enjoyed on the XC team!

Last year we had soccer players, football players, wrestlers, and basketball players join us throughout the summer to get in extra work and would love to have even more join us this summer! So come out and help us continue our recent run of success by joining us Thursday, June 4th at 4:30 at Big Ditch Lake to kick off summer!

A couple Highlander Cross Country runners ran today in the USATF West Virginia Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship at Holly Gray Park in Sutton, WV. To qualify for the National Junior Olympics Cross Country Championships in Indiana in December, runners must finish in the top 15. Asher Lawson competed in the Boys 13-14 4k race and he got off the start line out front and led for the first 2k before having a little issue and finishing 5th. Spencer Baird raced in the Boys 15-18 5k race and he grabbed the final qualifying spot in 15th with a time of 20:58.5! It was a great race by both boys on a challenging but different course from the usual one we run on at Holly Gray Park.
