Had a great run this morning and it had me reflecting. Life gets busy and sometimes this makes it easy to let your health and fitness fall to the bottom of your priorities. At this time last year, was one of the most stressful and busy periods for me. I re-entered my Masters in Nutritional Sciences program after a two year hiatus. This meant I had to re-instate around 4 courses by examination, take two courses (one repeated in order to re-instate), and prepare my thesis. Of course, I also had work and taking care of my little guy. At the end of it I was incredibly burnt out. From that time, my fitness has really plummeted. I’m generally kept my nutrition up, but the fitness really needs improvement. So, I figured I would take you on this journey with me!
I think the may point I want to drive home, is that where ever you are at, getting up and prioritizing what matters is always worth it. You want to be around for your loved ones and do life in the best way possible, take care of yourself. Move. Walk. Run. Lift. Sit down, stand up and repeat. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just do something. The movement even if small, has benefits!
