Help us welcome Jose Ortiz to College of the Redwoods for the 2026 Fall Season! 🌲 ⚽ 📚 Jose will be graduating from Watsonville High School where he has been a standout varsity player and currently playing for Pajaro Valley United. In the classroom, he is passionate about pursuing a degree in construction management and looks forward to building a strong future at Redwoods.
Jose would like to thank God for his constant guidance, and gives special appreciation to his family for their love, sacrifices, and encouragement—especially his parents for their endless support. Also, a deep gratitude to Coach Richard for believing in him and shaping his growth as both a player and a person, and to coach Christian for pushing him to improve through countless hours of training and mentorship. Jose also thanks his teammates for the brotherhood, competition, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Jose said the following about his decision on College of the Redwoods "It immediately felt like home—a welcoming community and campus where I know I can grow as a student, athlete, and individual. I can’t wait to take on this next challenge with the same passion and determination that have brought me this far!"
