You may have noticed something about our gym page…
You don’t see a lot of before-and-after pictures.
That’s intentional.
Do our members’ bodies change? Absolutely.
We notice when someone loses weight. We notice when muscle starts showing up where it wasn’t before. We notice when clothes fit differently and bodies begin to change.
But as owners and trainers, we’ve made a conscious decision not to make those things the main focus of what we celebrate.
Because we get to see the transformations that a picture could never fully show.
We see the woman who walked through our doors nervous, unsure of herself, wondering if she even belonged in a gym.
And two weeks later, she walks in smiling, head up, ready to get to work.
THAT is a transformation.
We see the woman who has always thought of herself as weak put her name on our Strong on Purpose Board for the first time.
And honestly? We want to turn cartwheels. 😂
We see the woman who used to need someone else to unload the heavy groceries realize she can carry them all herself now.
That’s not just strength.
That’s independence.
We see the woman who has had bad experiences with catty women or “mean girls” walk into a gym full of women and discover encouragement, friendship and acceptance instead.
That’s a culture shift.
We see the woman dealing with health challenges, pain or mobility limitations realize she can move better. She can do more. She feels better in her own body.
And we want to jump for joy with her.
Because here’s what we believe:
Losing weight, building muscle and changing physically can absolutely be wonderful results of training.
But they are often the result of a much bigger transformation.
Showing up consistently.
Challenging yourself.
Getting stronger.
Doing something today that you couldn’t do a month ago.
Learning that hard doesn’t mean impossible.
Discovering that you are capable of so much more than you thought.
And beginning to believe, “I can do hard things — and I can actually thrive doing them.”
Those are the things we want to point out.
Those are the things we want our members to hear us praise.
Because we never want a woman in our gym to believe that the most interesting thing about her progress is that her body got smaller.
Yes, bodies change here.
But so does confidence.
Strength.
Independence.
Friendship.
Capability.
And the way a woman sees herself.
There are a whole lot of “before and afters” happening inside these walls.
Most of them just can’t be captured in two pictures. ❤️
