Feathers for Native Americans HELP SAVE WILD MACAWS! Donation Center Address; 3415 Butterfly Arch, Va. Beach, Virginia 23456. Donation Center address: 3415 Butterfly Arch, Va.

We are collecting molted feathers to donate to the Pueblo Native American tribes of the South West for their use in their rich Customs and Traditions. We collect all sizes and colors of molted feathers from pet Macaws and Parrots.Once they have been sanitized we separate them by size and color and bag them up in plastic bags. I get request by phone and mail from many Hopi, Zuni,Navajo and other tr

ibal friends or friends of friends for particular sizes and colors to meet their needs. Hopefully every feather sent to the SouthWest will be a feather that replaced one that would have been hunted and killed for profit this year. If you have pet birds or know people that do or own pet shops and will collect the molted feathers, please send them in to us so we can bless a young man or lady with them to continue in their customs and traditions without harm to the Wild Macaw and other bird populations. NOTICE, NOTICE, NOTICE, NOTICE,
January 2, 2025
As of December 31, 2024, “Feathers for Native Americans” is no longer a 501(c )(3) Nonprofit Organization. This is one of many steps towards my goal of finding another Organization or Individual to take over “Feathers for Native Americans.”
I’ve contacted numerous potential organizations to date without much success. Without someone in place by July 31,2025, “Feathers for Native Americans” will come to an end.
I’m not accepting request for feathers from Native Americans any longer because the current number of request on hand will take about another 6 months to fulfill. While saying all that, I will accept feather donations as usual UNTIL JULY 31, 2025 to fulfill these current request but will NOT be able to send Tax Deductible Receipts any longer,
If you know of someone interested in taking over “Feathers for Native Americans,” please have them contact me for details. Contact info can be found on our “FaceBook” page or on our Website under: “feathersfornativeamericans.com”
Your help and support over these many years has been greatly Appreciated. The Millions of feathers you donated has Blessed many, many Puebloan Native American families and enabled them to continue their rich Customs and Traditions for which you should be very proud. While the number of Saved Wild Parrots & Macaws can’t be counted, illegal Wildlife Trade has decreased in the USA greatly in the past 35 years that I have been donating feathers to our Native Americans.
Thanks so much for all you have done,
Steven James, Founder 3415 Butterfly Arch Va B*h, VA 23456 Phone; 757-434-7557 Email; [email protected]

World Rainforest Day was June 22,2023.

Explore your connections to rainforests around the globe

World Rainforest Day has come and gone for another year. It recognizes the importance of safeguarding rainforests for future generations; however it’s not widely recognized.

Tropical rainforests are stunning places. They support half of the world’s biodiversity. They’re found in just a few regions, such as the Amazon, the Congo River Basin in Africa, and Indonesia. The variety of birds stands out visually — from the rainbow feathers of the Scarlet Macaw to the fantastic iridescence of the Keel-Billed Toucans.

The Amazon is the world's largest rainforest. The Amazon rainforest, which includes parts of nine countries and covers nearly 40% of South America, accounts for just over half the primary forests found across the tropics.
The scale of the Amazon extends beyond its forest cover. The Amazon Basin has the world's largest river. While there is some debate over the world's longest river, there is no doubt that the Amazon River is the largest river: it carries more than five times the volume of the Congo or twelve times that of the Mississippi.
The Amazon is thought to house more than half the world’s “uncontacted” tribes living in voluntary isolation from the rest of humanity. There have been hundreds of Indigenous tribes living there for millenniums and up until the past hundred years or so kept the Amazon in check and thriving. Unfortunately, Deforestation and Illegal Wildlife Trafficking have devastated the lives of mankind, flora, fauna and fungi, throughout the Amazon.

The relationship between people and rainforests runs deep. Indigenous communities continue to steward large areas of rainforests, and these ecosystems store roughly 40 percent of the world’s carbon, keeping it out of the atmosphere where it would contribute to climate change. So keeping rainforests healthy means keeping people and wildlife safe too, not only in the Amazon but worldwide.

Many populations of the beautiful birds in the Amazon are at peril and are heading into extinction. By donating Parrot and Macaw molted feathers we can make a difference. See our Website and read the Blog article “The Amazon Connection April 2023” for more details.

Thank You for your all your help in saving these beautiful Birds.

Today is Memorial Day. We honor those who died while in service of this nation. We visit their graves, attend Memorial Day ceremonies, and thank their families. We thank surviving veterans around us and their families too.

Today we express our gratitude to our fallen heroes. Thank you to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice
