Fall Book Fair is coming soon!

10/09/2026

Our 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed a fall art walk with Mrs. S to Cariboo Trail Studio, where they met local author SaDonna Heathman and local artist and illustrator Don Nutt.

The two teamed up to create Cowboy Up, Peanut!, a children's book inspired by the Heathman family's horse, Peanut, a cow horse who was afraid of cows! Students learned about the process of writing and illustrating a book and had the opportunity to ask questions about bringing a story to life.

The community is invited to meet these talented local creators! Stop by Cariboo Trail Studio at 318 W. Main St. in Coulee City on Friday, October 9, from 5–9 PM, or Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM–5 PM. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

A big thank you to SaDonna and Don for sharing their creativity with our students!

Coulee City Elementary K–5 families:

Just a reminder that we have a two-hour late start on Monday, September 14. School begins at 10:00 a.m., and students should arrive beginning at 9:40 a.m.

A light breakfast of protein bars, milk, and juice will be available.

If your family needs childcare because of the late start, we will have high school students available to supervise K–5 students from 7:40–9:40 a.m. Staff will be in the building, but the high school students will be providing the childcare and supervision during that time.

If you need childcare this Monday, please email [email protected] as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you!
