✨Breast cancer awareness month✨a Month near and dear to my heart.

Two years ago one of my greatest fears came true. Nothing could have prepared me for what it feels like to hear the words: “you have breast cancer”… nothing.

And I never thought I’d be able to overcome a lot of the challenges that came with it, but I learned that I’m stronger and more resilient and more magical than I ever gave myself credit for.

So, if you’re newly diagnosed with this heartbreaking illness, I want you to remember: you are allowed to be angry, to mourn, and to not have it figured out. And you’re also allowed to feel joy, to be taken care of, to ask for help, to grow, to laugh, and to feel hopeful.

For those of you in a caretaking role: please listen more, avoid the platitudes, ask more questions, take good care of yourselves, and ask for help.

Lastly- To all of my fellow breast cancer survivors- I see you, I honor you, you inspire the heck out of me!!!
Stay strong 🩵🩷🎗️

Welcome back to “No-Fluff self care practices series”.

Where I share some of my favorite self-care practices that don’t require a lot of time or resources to be effective.

Since September is Self care awareness month, for Part 2 of the series I went back to a classic:

Gratitude journaling.

There are so many reasons to feel untethered, overwhelmed and stressed out. Having immediate access to events happening globally is a double edged sword.

If you’re a deeply empathetic, caring person- a helper, caretaker, or someone who is interested in standing up for others- it’s easy to feel burnt out and overwhelmed by it all. But it’s so important to find ways to stay tuned in without shutting down- now more than ever, if we want to be able to be effective in how we support ourselves and others through the chaos.

So when your mind is racing, anxiety is running rampant and you can’t find your footing- come back to gratitude.

It’s a sure way to bring you back to the present moment, help you reflect on what is real in your life, and shift your focus and energy from negative to positive.

It can help decrease anxiety, reduce stress, and improve emotional regulation so you can explore what is possible. To bring clarity and open us up to ways in which we can show up, and keep our hearts soft.

After spending some days in the trenches myself, coming back to this practice shifted my mood pretty quickly.

Some things I’m grateful for today are:

🪶nourishing new friendships
🪶my gentle, supportive husband
🪶the mountains- reminding me to stay grounded and connected to something bigger

🫧It’s NOT another bubble bath🫧

Is my September series where I share practical, realistic, accessible self care tools to:
🪶quiet the mind
🪶ground the body
🪶soften the heart
without breaking the bank, or spending too much time on them.

Nature is my favorite playground, safe space, and healing sanctuary.

I decided to start the series with one of my favorite things to do when I feel blue (or just because trees are great friends)- HUGGING A TREE.

There’s no shortage of benefits to being in nature, and intentional contact with the flora that surrounds us can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety and boost feelings of good hormones.

So next time you’re walking around, go give a tree some love and feel their calming presence remind you of your connection to all life on earth. Because we need more people who remember that caring for all and protecting each other is what will save us.

🍃Follow for more self care tips
And tell me- have you hugged a tree today?

September is National Self care awareness month.

As a Breathwork facilitator, nervous system regulation coach, and breast cancer survivor myself- I stopped treating self care like a luxury a long time ago.

I understand how essential self care practices are to our ability to navigate daily stressors and bigger life changes with less anxiety and overwhelm.

If you’re an Empath and deep feeler, a helper, or caretaker who is needing ways to give back to yourself while juggling the balancing act of staying present in your life and standing up for what you believe in and the people you love- self care isn’t something you can skip.

I’ll share practices that don’t feel like a chore, and can be accessed easily, without spending a lot of money or time on them to be effective.

🌸Follow along for tips on how to ground, center and nourish your nervous system.

🍃I invite you to reflect on what self-care means to you, and share below what is one thing you do that helps you feel nourished vs depleted?

✨It’s so nice to meet you!!

This post and this project have been a long time coming.

Flowers at Dusk is my new business- born from a deep passion for wellness and helping people navigate seasons of transition.

Life is a beautiful journey inevitably filled with really challenging moments. So few of us learn how to manage our emotions and our stress levels early on and we’re oftentimes left coping in unhealthy ways- leading to disconnection from our bodies, our expression and the world around us.

The tools I’ve learned over 10 years that helped me physically, emotionally and mentally move through a breast cancer journey 2 years ago, are the tools I wish to share with you.

I’m beyond the moon excited to finally launch my business, and I hope my intention and passion is felt in my work.

If you’re ready to release emotional weight, manage stressful situations with more ease, and find ways to see the beauty and the joy in your life despite life’s difficulties… CLICK the link in my bio and schedule a BREATHWORK SESSION WITH ME 🩵

The first 3 people that book will receive $28 OFF all future sessions with me for life.

Sending love to you all!!

You can’t ignore the hard s**t.

It begs to be seen, acknowledged, felt.

Sometimes it clings so hard it can feel as though it’s the only thing you can carry.

But then you breathe, and you hear a bird, or you witness someone laughing, and you remember that the beauty and the joy exist too… and in that moment you don’t have to deny the existence of either one, you get to hold both, and that is perfect.

Breathwork isn’t a fad… it’s here to stay!

Like I’ve said before, if you’ve felt intimidated at the idea of trying breathwork because you’re not sure you’re ready for a BIG cathartic release… it doesn’t have to be intense to be effective.

Breathwork is a practice tailored to your current needs and circumstances.

It can be as gentle or as activating as YOU need it.

✨DM me if you’re curious or Comment “nurture” below, and we can chat about how this work can benefit you!

✨I GOT MARRIED!!! There- I finally said it.✨

Living more out loud is a bit terrifying, especially when life lately feels more fragile and painful.

But these moments of joy have been my reminders of all there is to lose, and all that is worth fighting for- not just for me, but for everyone.

So here are a few moments over the last couple of months that anchored me back to gratitude and filled my heart with a joy I wish to share with all.

❤️‍🔥Yes, I got hitched!!! I got tired of waiting for perfect, and we said yes in an intimate and spontaneous way on January 1st, at 3 am.

❤️‍🔥I celebrated my 39th birthday- something that felt uncertain, even just a couple years ago.

❤️‍🔥I formed an LLC and have been working tirelessly at putting all the moving pieces together to launch my business soon!

❤️‍🔥I started a collaborative project with one of my closest friends, and am so excited for it to come to life.

❤️‍🔥I celebrated a year since I had my breast tumor removal surgery, and a year since I started radiation- grateful I’ve made it this far.

This is my reminder that finding things that bring you joy and excitement, and acknowledging and celebrating them doesn’t deny the truth of all the darkness and the pain that exists.

We can use joy as a catalyst. Let it be our guiding force, stop hiding it… it deserves to be seen and felt fully in all its glorious depth. The more alive we feel, the better equipped we are at tuning into that energy and doing something with it- for the good of all.

Let’s all tap into that well of power and allow it to move us.
