This window helps ensure utility lines are properly marked and still visible when your project begins.

Q: Do I need to contact 811 if I hired a contractor to do the digging?

A: The individual or contractor performing the digging/excavation is responsible for contacting 811. Though if you’ve hired a contractor, it’s wise to CONFIRM that contacting 811 is part of their plan and that underground utilities will be/have been located prior to digging.
Safe digging is a shared responsibility. If there’s digging, make sure Kansas 811 is involved.
