I was adopted at 15 months old. I have no recollection of these early years. But, my nervous system remembers.
I recently connected my focus challenges to my adoption story.
Recently, as in a few days ago.
After listening to episodes of the podcast , I heard so many adoptees echoing character traits identical to mine.
It’s helping me connect the dots.
Early separation doesn’t just shape emotional patterns —it organizes the nervous system.
For me, attention has always been state-dependent.
I don’t start settled. I regulate first.
Then focus becomes accessible.
That’s not a flaw. It’s an adaptation.
This is why I don’t just train movement or mindset.
I work with vision, vestibular input, breath, rhythm, and the systems that regulate arousal — so attention has something stable to build on.
If any part of this resonates, you’re not alone.
There are ways to work with your nervous system instead of against it.
If this made you pause or reflect, trust that.
