We offer Fun, Fitness, & Friendship through non-competitive activities including (primarily) walking, swimming, cycling. A volksmarch is an organized walk through a scenic and/or historic area over a predetermined course. the walk is non-competitive, and each participant travels at his/her own pace, making this an excellent activity for the entire family. Walks generally cover a distance of 10 kil

ometers (6.1 miles) over a circuitous route. A shorter route of 5 kilometers 3.1 miles) is often. The events encourage outdoor physical activity and exercise, and they are designed for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness. Routes are often accessible for wheelchair and stroller users. there is a charge of $4.00 (as of 1 Jan 2024) for all participants in our weekend events. Anyone who finishes an event is eligible for IVV credit. We hold "fun walks" on Wednesday nights with no cost and no IVV credit. The primary categories for credit are Event Credit and Distance Credit. Event Credits are recorded for each walk completed and Distance Credits are recorded based on the number of kilometers walked in each event. At various milestones, the credits can be recorded with the American Volkssport Office for certification. Other programs (State Capitols, College Walks, etc.) AVA walks are available throughout the United States and Canada.
