DITCH breakfast cereals and bars for vegetables, protein, and healthy fats.

Have you ever heard the saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"?

That's because it is....

Most cereals, health bars (Cliff Bars, KIND & Nature Valley), and protein powders contain a high amount of sugar and carbohydrates. Therefore, consuming these items after a night of rest and a 10-15 hour fast can significantly increase blood sugar levels. This high spike will lead to remarkably high and low glucose levels throughout the day. In addition, high insulin spikes eventually cause hormonal imbalances and inflammation in the body, leading to weight gain or even autoimmune and chronic diseases.

Eating leafy greens, protein, and fats for breakfast decreases the high glucose spikes, reducing insulin, inflammation, sugar cravings, and midday crash + you are feeding all the healthy gut bacteria, creating a strong and healthy microbiome and immunity.

STOP counting calories & learn to optimize your own body. Knowing what to eat and when to eat is critical when struggling with stubborn body fat, hormonal imbalances, and inflammatory diseases.

One of my favorite breakfast meals is sauteed onions, peppers, tomatoes and zucchini with two scrambled eggs over a bed of leafy greens topped with fresh basil, mozzarella, and salsa. I like to make a few servings at once so I can have a quick and easy breakfast on days I am on the go.

Red Clover-

Did you know red clover is edible and has many healing benefits!

Not only is this plant edible, but it can be found almost everywhere!

Commonly used to treat chronic skin diseases like eczema, psoriasis, and rashes. Red Cover is also used for estrogen replacement after menopause (or low estrogen). In addition, it promotes drainage of mucus build-up in the lungs, used to treat whooping cough and bronchitis. Traditionally red clover purifies the blood and eliminates toxins from the bloodstream.

Red cover contains calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, potassium, and vitamin C.

Red Clover is one of my favorite foraging picks. It goes great in stirfry, teas, or tinctures.

If you are taking certain medications or pregnant, you should consult with your physician before taking red clover.

Truth- overall health goes beyond physical movement and eating healthy. A healthy lifestyle includes quality relationships, joy, spirituality, creativity, and finances. If one of these areas is lacking, your overall health can be impacted.

Evaluate all areas in your own life. What areas are you fulfilled, and what areas are lacking. Awareness is vital in bringing about change.

Science shows us that a sense of community is correlated to longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Volunteering, joining a class, and prioritizing time with loved ones are all ways to strengthen your social bonds and support your health in the process. Get involved in things you care about and your community connections will naturally fall into place.

What is your dosha?

Ayurveda is based on a system of 5 different energies. These energies are ether, air, fire, water, and earth. Although we have all five elements, some are more dominant than others making up three main doshas- Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha. Ayurveda practitioners believe that if your doshas is out of alignment, you will experience a break in the energetic field, impacting your overall health and wellness.

My primary dosha is Vatta - Air and ether. Common traits are spontaneous, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, and the love of new experiences. Loves to talk and share with others. (this sounds like me!)
