My Training Style

My style is based on slow and controlled resistance training to maintain/regain strength, with focuses on pelvic floor stability, and rehabilitation and recovery. These foundations are based on a client’s past and present experiences and to ensure optimal pregnancy, birth, and postpartum needs are met. My Fitness Journey

I began my journey over ten years ago in my college gym which initiated a drive to challenge myself and consider the importance of my long term health. From there, I continued to escalate workouts and nutrition which eventually became a growth opportunity in recognizing signals from my body. After years with restrictive eating, injuries, physical therapy, even surgery, I developed a new prospective to my training programs. I encouraged slow and controlled movement, working on foundational exercises, and mind-body connection. Thus emerged my core personal training principles and nutrition coaching guidelines. My Goal

I wish to share these core concepts with the pre-, postnatal, and postpartum demographic and provide guidance with those who are looking to improve their health. This led to Fit By Amanda being created; an intimate coaching experience, with personalized coaching for women.

Life’s rough when you don’t think about what you’re actually thinking.

What rules do you have about food?
What requirements do you need to meet for exercise?
What systems do you have to measure progress, rather than the mirror alone?

There’s a lot to unpack to truly create a sustainable, long term system. Something that doesn’t leave you stopping and going all the time, sore AF, and restricted with food.

To get results long term, you have to go deeper than what your body looks like.

Do you hear the messages you’re telling yourself? The words you use when looking in the mirror? And the conflict between expectations and what you’re actually doing?

You’re not set in stone.

This isn’t your forever.

You can change, but you have to be making the actual actions that reflect that change.

With realistic expectations.

I wish I asked more questions when I first started all this instead of figuring it out myself. It just took me longer to get to the final results, with misleading information, and confirmation bias.

Your challenge:

Instead of asking AI… ask me.

But like, eat the pizza when you’re trying to lose weight?

Yeah.

What I think of that profile you follow to love hate:

Why? Why do you do this to yourself?

The profile that has over 1k followers I promise will not miss your eyes if you unfollow.

Your friend who always post her next trend in fitness will not know they’re muted.

The profile you have unfollowed, but still go and search will not know that you blocked it.

This reel idea came from a real client interaction of her love hating some girl on the internet. I’ve also had this conversation countless times with other clients. You’re not alone and I’ve followed that girl too.

And also…

Stop torturing yourself with other women’s lives and bodies. You literally have no idea what is happening outside of your screen in their life and they have no obligation to be honest to you.

Do your mental well being a favor and stop looking at things that make you feel worse about yourself, your progress, your baby, your body - anything.

I’m a regular girl who’s ultimate goal is to make your life simpler to achieve your desired results.

I work with women who are not in baby making mode, have a baby in their belly, through their postpartum and school kids era, and women who are ready and have grandkids.

I’m going to help you know what you’re doing and I’m going to help you achieve better results if you thought you knew what you were doing.

I work with women who have never touched a barbell and are ready to add it to their Pilates routine. I work with women who have touched many barbells and need to slow it down.

I break down nutrition in a way it’s so silly and simple that you can’t believe you’re getting results. I give you the platform to continue doing it without me.

At the end of the day, I want you to feel that you can text me about anything and everything because there’s nothing I haven’t heard, thought myself, or can’t find a resource for.

I’m Amanda. Mom to one outgoing little gal, lover to my opposite, and former Paleo only, must workout everyday, scared of food, hate my body gal.

Today, I am more flexible with my food, understanding the one cookie doesn’t kill me, workout consistently, while not overdoing it, and have appreciation for how strong I am. It also doesn’t hurt that I like my muscles.

I’ve changed a lot since I started all this and you will too.

Here’s an online client video response I sent when she wanted to double check her barbell row form.

The value of coaching for form cannot be overstated. Am I little dramatic on it? Yes. But, for the results she wants, the modification was needed.

While in person coaching can give you immediate feedback, online coaching provides you with a library of videos to watch at your convenience.

Sure, YouTube videos and insta THOTs in the gym can help their awesome graphics. My question would be but what if you don’t know what you’re doing? How do you ask them when you’re not sure? What if you’re brand new and want it broken down so simple it hurts? Or, if you’re an experienced lifter, but keep getting injured or aren’t making progress?

Form check videos and demonstrations are essential to you as someone who strength trains. Not only will they give you more knowledge, but you’ll feel more confident in the gym and see the body comp changes you’ve been waiting for.

Online coaching isn’t so much coaching as it is a place for you to say what your brain is telling you.

It’s a daily opportunity to get that ick out. To say hey, the tortilla wrap - yeah, that’s a scary thing for me to eat.

A space for you to say I ruined my progress with the Chinese meal I had with my son.

And to say, I had the ice cream because I was just down today.

It’s a communication portal for you to work through that voice that tells you you’re not good enough, you don’t deserve fat loss, that you ruined all progress, and that you’re failing at your workouts.

What it also provides?

A person who’s going to respond knowing exactly how you feel and wanting to learn about yourself with you.

There’s no shame in feeling nervous around bread.
There’s no guilt for eating the ice cream.
There’s no punishment for eating the Chinese food.
And there’s no “you don’t want it bad enough then” for missing your workout.

It’s really a learning opportunity so that you can be kinder, more empathic, resilient to yourself - while getting the results.
