As part of our operating principles, Branches Bike Shop seeks to prevent waste and encourage re-use of quality bike parts whenever possible. Our hope is that this storefront will encourage just that. Here at Branches Bike Shop, we have a heathy appreciation for modern bike technology, but honestly we love the old but gold quality from some pre-2000’s components.
This Shimano Deore friction shifter is a prime example. Not only is it a super functional and reliable component, but also, reusing components like these prevents unnecessary waste and reduces the hold of shiny object syndrome that the cycling industry pushes. Don’t get us wrong, we love a shiny new bike, and boy do they ride nicely, but if you find yourself on a budget looking for a quality bicycle with reliable components, let us know, and we’d be happy to point you to some great options! :)
