As adult and senior dancers, posture training is about much more than appearance — it directly affects balance, joint support, coordination, breathing mechanics, and long-term function.

In my training programs, I combine my background as a Certified Personal Trainer, former Physical Therapist Assistant, and professional dancer to create ballet-inspired conditioning that supports healthy movement patterns in a safe and sustainable way.

These sessions are designed to be:
• Low impact and joint conscious
• Easy to modify for different ability levels
• Time efficient for busy schedules
• Accessible from home with minimal equipment
• Focused on posture, stability, mobility, and functional strength

Whether you are continuing your ballet journey, returning to movement after time away, or simply wanting to maintain strength and independence as you age, these classes are designed to help you move with more support, awareness, and confidence.

I thought the "return to stage," chapter in my life was closed for good...

This photo is from my February performance of Dying Swan, and looking at it now, I’m just overwhelmed with thankfulness for my body.

It taught me a profound lesson: When your training is sound, safe, and methodical—NOT forced—your body listens and responds gently.

I didn't "fight" my way back; I trained my way back.

Now, I’m dancing with Tip Top Dance here in Arizona, and we’re already preparing for our next showcase in February!

The best part? This past week I started doing grand jetés again for the first time post-surgery. I even pulled a Firebird leap out of nowhere—which totally shocked me!

To my fellow adult and senior dancers: Your time is not up.

Have hope, even if it seems crazy.

No matter your age or what you’ve been through, your body is capable of incredible things when it’s treated with respect and science-backed conditioning.

Ready to find your way with ballet?

Whether you are looking for in-person or private online training, I’m here to help.

As a Professional Dancer and Certified Personal Trainer, I combine therapeutic techniques, progressive exercise, and mobility training to keep you dancing for life.

While it’s a "classic" in the dance world, the frog position doesn't account for every dancer’s unique hip anatomy—especially for those of us navigating adult and senior ballet journeys.

Forcing a position that fights against your natural bone structure can lead to more problems than improvements.

In the Turnout and Hip Health course on the Veronica K Ballet platform, we move beyond the "one-size-fits-all" approach.

We explore evidence-based mobilizations and functional strengthening exercises designed to support your range of motion and longevity without the strain.

Forcing turnout by tilting the pelvis and straining the ankles creates a cycle of compensation that often leads to chronic injury.

True rotation in adult ballet should prioritize joint longevity and functional alignment over simply hitting an aesthetic line.

My latest YouTube training helps you identify these common patterns and transition toward a safer, more sustainable practice.

Stop trying to force your core to "activate" when it’s actually tight and restricted.

As a specialist in adult ballet technique, I often see dancers struggling with their technique because they are holding chronic tension.

The Veronica K Method focuses on the "melt"—a passive release technique that allows your nervous system to down-regulate, resetting your posture and allowing for genuine core engagement.

When we prioritize ballet injury prevention and mobility, we build longevity. You don't need another high-intensity workout; you need a corrective approach designed for the adult dancer’s anatomy.

Ready to reset your center and improve your technique?

If your leg feels like it’s hitting a "wall" when you lift it up, you might be fighting your anatomy.

At Veronica K Ballet, I prioritize hip arthrokinematics to ensure your movement feels as good as it looks.

The Mechanics: For the leg to go up, the femoral head must glide down and depress within the socket.

When we skip this downward glide and just think about LIFTING, we often resort to "irregular compensations"—like hiking the hip or gripping the psoas—which actually blocks our range of motion!

Foundations Over Height:
For adult and senior dancers, longevity is the goal.

We focus on anatomy first because a well-placed line is a safe line. Higher legs are a natural byproduct of a well-organized joint, not a forced result.

Stop fighting your joints and start working with them.

Want to build safer, stronger extensions?
I’ve designed a Progressive Extensions Course specifically for the adult and senior anatomy on the Veronica K Platform.

Stop the "Desk Slouch" so it doesn't affect your posture...

As adult and senior dancers, we spend a lot of time balancing our seated lives with our passion for ballet.

But hours at a desk can "turn off" our postural muscles, leading to tight hip flexors and rounded shoulders that directly impact our turnout and balance.

In my latest YouTube video, I’m sharing a 10-minute Desk Posture Reset specifically for our community.

Ready to take the first small steps for growth in posture?

Sitting a lot can affect more than your posture—it changes the neuromuscular patterns that support turnout, balance and strength. Read this short, practical breakdown for adult and senior ballet dancers on how prolonged sedentary behavior changes your body and what to do about it: https://wix.to/qa4pWmK

Minutes to read: 4

For the adult or senior ballet dancer, the time spent outside the studio is just as critical as the time spent at the barre. While classical ballet demands optimal postural control, muscle strength, and flexibility the modern lifestyle often necessitates prolonged periods of sitting. Whether you sit...
