Bedrock Bruiser Nostalgia Funny Car

Bedrock Bruiser Nostalgia Funny Car Blown Alcohol 1970 Camaro Funny Car built after my retirement from the USAF. Always Having Fun!! I won many races with the car throughout Arizona.

I went to my first drag race around the age of 5 at the Las Vegas Speedrome after my Dad bought a stock 1967 Camaro off a used car lot. Throughout the years I watched the car morph into one of the most winning Super Pro door cars in the history of Las Vegas Drag Racing. At the age of 16 I raced my first event in my own 1970 Camaro that ran mid 14 seconds in the quarter mile. In 1989 I joined the United States Air Force and put racing on hold while I traveled the world. In 1994 I was assigned to Luke AFB in Arizona where I purchased a 1984 Camaro Z-28 as a "daily driver" but within a year I caught the racing bug and my "daily driver" was transformed into a S/ST (10.90 class) back halved drag car. I raced it until 1998 when I traded it for my first Front Engine Dragster named "The Mongrel". While I had fun with it, I had the desire to go faster so I sold the car and bought a second front engine car that was certified to run 7.50. I raced it for about a year when the offer came up to purchase an NHRA Competition Eliminator legal B/EA 118" WB Mark Williams Altered with a Small Block Chevy. I only raced it for a few events when I had an incident and decided to part with it inleau of Super Comp Rear Engine Dragster. I sold everything in 2003 as my Military obligations and deployment schedule were just to much to keep racing. As an aviator I was usually gone more than half the year. I vowed to one day get back into the sport. Fast forward to January 2013 I retired from the Air Force, relocated to Michigan to work for Kalitta Airlines and with the full support of my family I saved up and purchased a bare 10.1E legal Funny Chassis from funnycargarage.com and Eazy Money was born. From there the build was on! Being I had been out of racing for a while, on a very tight budget and the fact that the funny car scene was new to me I sought out and was assisted on the build by many folks for whom I can not thank enough. Here it is, November 2015 and I have fired the car up for the first time and plan to make the 2016 racing season. The chassis will have two bodies, the 67 Camaro based off my Dads car and a 34 Ford 5 window coupe I plan to name Mongrel VI. While the car may not run 6 seconds at 200mph, we hope to have fun, do long smoky burnouts, and prove that even on the smallest budget. If you follow a dream, you can do anything! Enjoy the page, feel free to give suggestions, and I am always looking for assistance. One day I hope to secure sponsorship & take the show on the road.

Next up, the Bruiser will be at Northern Michigan Dragway this weekend, filling in time with the Nostalgia Outlaws, where our very own Eric Munday-Whalon will be stepping out of his 200 mph fire breathing dragster and getting his "Funny Car" feet wet, making his 1st set of license passes before building his own flopper (I may also jump in for a pass or two!). From our understanding, it's the first time a funny car has been down this track in over 30 years!
