So over the weekend someone asked me what’s the ultimate goal for “Shelly’s Backyard Ball?” and in the moment I didn’t have an answer but after a few days of thinking on it, I’d have to say there’s nothing I’d love more than to see an amish team come down and compete against these West Texas teams in a Shelly’s Backyard Ball tournament 👀

Mother Nature definitely tested us this week with all the rain, but thankfully we get to play at one of the nicest facilities in West Texas on all turf. Hanner Sports Complex - Clyde, TX. The 2026 tournament season kicked off with a bang, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.

One of the coolest things to hear all weekend was where everyone traveled from. We overheard players talking about driving 3 hours, 5 hours, and even over 7 hours from Albuquerque just to play some Shelly’s Backyard Ball. That kind of support is something we’ll never take for granted.

A huge thank you to Rene with WTGM and Sam with ATX for setting up their apparel trailers. It amazes us to see the community that’s forming around these tournaments. We’ve had teams and vendors join us from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, and it’s incredible to watch this continue to grow.

More than anything, we hope we’re making it worth the trip for every team that chooses to spend their weekend with us. Thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and helping us build something special. We had an absolute blast hosting, catching up with old friends, and making plenty of new ones.

We can’t wait to do it all again next month! Thank you all for your continued support as we work to put on some of the best backyard softball tournaments in Texas.
