THE TIME HAS COME! With the start of the school year comes the start of preseason! This team has a ton of young potential and there’s no better time to start then now! We will be having open room practices every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-5:30! These practices are open to all Cascade girl wrestlers and are the perfect opportunity for girls that have never wrestled before to get a jump start on their first season! Although we lost 1 senior last year, all last year’s wrestlers will be making a return along with some new faces and a group of hard working girls moving up from the Jr High program! We love seeing this program grow and can’t wait to see what the future holds! It’s going to be a great year! Go Cougs!!!!

Our 2026 season was wrapped up with a very competitive weekend at state this last weekend! Nevaeh Hampton battled it out both days to find her way to the 4th place spot! Very impressive appearance at state for this young sophomore!

That’s a wrap! Your Cascade Lady Cougars went to the special districts 1 tournament and battled their hearts out! Lily Bonogofski, Karlie Burns, and Lorelei Irwin went 1–2 in the tournament but still fought tell the very end! Nevaeh Hampton showed up with an unstoppable mindset and put on a dominate display as she walked her way straight to the top of the podium pinning every opponent she faced in the very first round of each match! Very impressive tournament for this young sophomore and can’t wait to see how she does at state! Also want to give a major thank you to Salem Elite Wrestling Club and the Salem elite family for all the extra work, help and support they’ve provided nevaeh to help get her where she is today! The future looks bright for this young team and we’re just getting started! 💪🏼💪🏼

Last night was a very special night as we celebrated a very special senior, Chelsie Howard! We hosted our last home dual of the season against our oldest rivals, the Stayton Eagles! Our lady cougars went out on the mat on a mission! Lexi Cruz and Nevaeh Hampton both finding pins early in their matches and Lilly Bonogofski earning a tech fall in the 3rd round! The night resulted in a Cascade victory 30-18 over the Stayton Eagles! Chelsie has been a major part of creating the foundation of the Cascade Girls Wrestling program with her competitive determination and welcoming support to her fellow teammates! Chelsie managed to climb her way on the podium at every tournament we entered and even claimed the 5th place spot last year at state making her 1 of 2 of Cascades girls wrestlings first ever state placers! We wish Chelsie all the best wishes along her journey in life and all the many things she will accomplish! Thank you for being the amazing student athlete and example you’ve been Chelsie, it’s truly been an honor!

We spent the day battling it out down at the Harrisburg girls tournament today! Due to sickness and injuries, the team was reduced down to just 3 girls and they still showed up with a purpose! Nevaeh Hampton had a stacked bracket and clinched 5th place, Evelyn Erickson grinded away at 4th place, and Lorelei Irwin battled her way up the podium and snatched the 3rd place spot in style! We are very proud of these girls and the ability to continue to improve week in and week out! Great job ladies, keep up the great work!

First tournament of the year is in the books! Our new girls showed up not knowing what to expect and they still went out there and fought their hearts out as our returning girls went to work grinding through their brackets! Alexis Cruz was looking extremely sharp with takedowns that couldn’t be stopped all the way to 1st place along with teammate, Nevaeh Hampton who stepped up a couple weight classes but refused to let it slow her down! Chelsie Howard had a very dominant night although we crossed paths with another extremely tough girl who’s match could have went either way, leaving Chelsie hungry as ever as we move forward and prepare for the rest of the season! Tomorrow night we head out to Estacada high school to do it again! LETS GOOO LADY COUGS💪🏼💪🏼

Well ladies and gentleman it’s officially! Your lady cougars are all officially certified and entered to start the 2025-2026 season tomorrow morning as we head to Corvallis for the spartan invitational tournament to kick off the season! These girls have been working extremely hard and we couldn’t be more proud of this squad! Let’s go cougs!!
