Roadtrip to Rhinebeck with Abigail for the NY Sheep and Wool festival. We stayed in a friend’s little camper and grabbed coffee and muffins at Babette’s Kitchen (5/5 stars) to get to the festival just after it opened on Sunday. (Side note: Sunday > Saturday)

Weather: perfect
Crowds: busy but not overwhelming
Wool: LOTS
Vibes: friendly and complimentary

It was interesting to see some subtle trend shifts this year. We met Flax Fiber Farm !! And spent no less than an hour talking about all the flaxy things. In the next year, we have lots of creative plans cooking. And hopefully more field trips!

We are all sad that the growers market comes to a close with the end of October, but you’ll have another opportunity to see us as part of Flax Folks in November!

Flax Folks is a collaboration among several small scale flax growers along the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania. We’re working to make fiber flax available to you for your own linen production!

We’re showing up next at the PA Fall Fiber Festival on Nov 21-22, 2026, in Leesport, PA. You’ll find us where deep tradition meets thoughtful modern.

Some of the goodies we’re bringing directly from our farms include:

✨ retted flax straw
✨ wool rovings
✨ wool yarn
✨ flax-derived soaps
✨ sheep milk soaps
✨ botanical dye materials
✨ dried lavender

We’ll also have tools of the flax trade to show you, and we’re eager to chat flax to linen!

Fall garden prep is upon us! Adding soil amendments in the fall helps the microbes homogenize with the soil for a longer period of time, giving your spring planting an even better start. A few hundred pounds of frass went to worthy field this weekend.
