Guest Speaker during Summer S.E.E.D: Nate Sink

Families, we are welcoming a Speaker during Summer S.E.E.D to provide a testimony that covers Leadership, Ownership and Character Development.

This will be a great chance to keep Jesus at the focus and hear how to allow his word to guide us during challenges.

We are asking for JV & JH to attend.
Parents, you may attend if desired.
Elementary Teams are WELCOME to attend, this is OPTIONAL.
*Coach Longaberger will offer an OPTIONAL Training if your athlete is attending*

Here is a summary of what will be discussed during this testimony:

⚡️ Be Unapologetically Christian: The Call to True Leadership
We need everybody to reach everyone. To change a 21st-century world, we don't just need managers—we need Spirit-empowered, whole leaders who embody what they preach.

True leadership boils down to one word: Ownership. If you don’t own it, you can’t lead it.

🚫 The Enemies of Ownership
Passivity: Settling for comfort, convenience, and a lack of initiation.

Fear: Letting intimidation halt your forward momentum.

🛠 How to Embody Ownership
Execute the Vision: Clearly voice your expectations. Unvoiced expectations always go unmet (Proverbs 29:18).

Lead by Example: If your actions don't match your words, it’s just noise (1 John 3:18). Your team will replicate your behavior, not your speeches.

Courage & Grit: Live counter-culturally. Courage is moving forward despite fear; grit is enduring the hardship with the right attitude. When a Christian is squeezed by pressure, only Christ should come out. No excuses.

Humility: True leaders serve (Matthew 20:28). Strip away the glory you think you deserve, empty your ego, and put on Christ.

🎯 The Bottom Line
If you cannot lead yourself, you cannot lead others. Take responsibility, be about the Father’s business, have fun, and ultimately—LEAD THEM TO CHRIST.

Cornerstone Calendar 🖊️

CUA Football Training is in full swing. This past week, we welcomed the Elementary Teams into Summer S.E.E.D. Having the ability to for all our teams to practice in the same location, same time AND receive Christian leadership is amazing.

This week we step into Week 3 for Training and our readings with the Book of James. This is a great series for our athletes to dive into this book and receive God's word during this process.

We are thankful for the community we are building and the support of different organizations that share our values.

This week, we have Summer S.E.E.D training and Father's Day on Sunday! Be sure to celebrate the best way you can.

What is S.E.E.D?

CUA Football is providing this incredible opportunity for athletes to train BEFORE their season begins.

S - Speed
E - Endurance
E - Ex*****on
D - Discipleship

These are camps designed to elevate your athlete through Christian mentorship and leadership. The purpose of offering camps during the summer allows for athletes to grow and measure their personal successes.

These camps are being held at Ascension St. John Sportsplex. This facility allows for athletes first class equipment and the adequate space to allow for indoor and outdoor training.

Keeping the focus on Jesus 👏

Coach Longaberger and the Elementary coaches want this summer to focus on the basics. Some of our athletes are new to football and even new to sports! Taking the time to teach, mentor and support these young athletes will help build confidence, understanding and overall growth.

Join CU Football as we journey through the book of James with our athletes. This summer will be examining the practical teachings that will support our values [ FAITH. CHARACTER. EXCELLENCE. ] while relating them to football, leadership and daily life.

We will post the scriptures we covered and how it can impact us.

Speed Training (Part 4 of 4) 🏃‍♂️💨

Coach Drach takes his lesson even further with a physical demonstration of how to properly execute this drill.

Having experiences that are both educational and impactful is a valuable asset to the overall success for our CUA Athletes.
