Seth Pietsch brings a wealth of experience and passion for the game to our coaching staff. A lifelong athlete and competitor, Seth’s journey in baseball and fastpitch softball reflects both his dedication to excellence and his commitment to developing athletes.
Seth is a 2000 graduate of Hidden Valley High School, where he varsity lettered all four years in baseball. He was named Second-Team All-Conference in 1998 and 1999, before earning First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-State honors in 2000. That same year, he was also recognized as the Most Outstanding South Player at the 3A All-Star Game.
He continued his baseball career at Oregon State University, where he lettered all three years (2001–2003). During his time with the Beavers, Seth achieved a career batting average of .324, earned Pac-10 Honorable Mention in 2002 and 2003, and led the Pac-10 in doubles in 2002. His collegiate career included 80 singles, 38 doubles, 10 triples, and 22 homeruns.
In 2003, Seth was drafted by the New York Mets in the 8th round, launching a successful professional baseball career. Over five seasons, he played in the New York Mets minor leagues as well as with the San Diego Surf Dawgs, Joliet JackHammers, and Lincoln Saltdogs. He posted a career batting average of .308, with 289 singles, 70 doubles, 18 triples, and 43 homeruns. Along the way, Seth earned All-Star selections with the Kingsport Mets (2004), San Diego Surf Dawgs (2005 & 2006), and Lincoln Saltdogs (2007). Highlights of his career also include sharing the field with Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson in 2005 and MLB legend Jose Canseco in 2006.
In addition to his baseball career, Seth has been dedicated to the growth of fastpitch softball since 2018. He has coached competitive club softball with Bat Company and Soar Athletics, bringing his extensive playing background and deep knowledge of the game to help athletes reach their full potential.
