With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear friend Shari Chamblee. Shari was the epitome of doing everything with your heart and soul: kind, compassionate, and deeply devoted to every child, family, and staff member. She gave generously of her time, love, and wisdom, always showing up with a coffee in hand, and ready to give a hug that could fix anything.

We are devastated to lose such a wonderful member of our community and are so grateful to have known Shari. We ask that you please keep her family in your thoughts during this difficult time. ❤️

Bar Skills 🤝Spatial Awareness

In recreational gymnastics, kids begin learning bar skills through activities like hanging, swinging, and holding themselves up on the low bar. These early experiences build upper-body strength, body control, and confidence, all while developing the foundation for more advanced bar skills later on.

Over time, bar work helps gymnasts:
 ❤️ Trust their bodies while off the ground
 ❤️ Build grip, arm, and core strength
 ❤️ Improve balance, coordination, and spatial awareness

What starts with a simple hang or tummy support can grow into strong pullovers, fluid swings, and confident dismounts that show just how much gymnasts are capable of doing!

Floor Skills 🤝Strength & Coordination

In recreational gymnastics, kids start learning floor skills through basic movements like rolls, jumps, and animal walks, all with lots of support and encouragement. These early steps build core strength, coordination, and confidence, which carry over into not just tumbling, but other activities like dance, martial arts, and even team sports!

Over time, floor skills help gymnasts:
❤️ Trust their bodies in motion
❤️ Build total-body strength and control
❤️ Develop flexibility and focus

What starts with a simple roll or stretch can grow into powerful handstands, connected skills, and expressive routines that showcase just how strong and capable gymnasts really are!

🚨This is not a drill!🚨 Just two weeks into Gymnastics Showcase enrollment and we’ve already got 50% of available spots filled! 🥹

The Gymnastics Showcase is an exciting way for kids of all ages to show off the skills they learn during classes! It’s set up like a collegiate gymnastics meet, with equipment brought in from ASU, where each gymnast gets to perform routines on the four main events: floor, bars, beam, and vault.

🏅 Currently in classes? Turn your form in to the front desk or via email to make sure your gymnast’s spot is secured!

🏅 Not yet enrolled? Fall classes are available at all three studios!! Shoot us a message or complete a class schedule request to get matched with a custom availability schedule.

You know we love blending our favorite things around here, so we’re super excited to announce a new class type: FUSION!

Currently available at Heart & Soul Northwest, our fusion classes blend two dance types together pulling aspects from each to create a high energy class!

Acro Lyrical Fusion | Tuesdays 6pm

In Acro Lyrical Fusion dancers leap, roll, and balance as they blend acrobatic skills with the expressive flow of lyrical dance! This high-energy class builds strength, flexibility, and emotion-filled movement.

Lyrical Hip Hop Fusion 6+ | Thursdays 4pm
 
In Lyrical Hip Hop fusion dancers dive into powerful storytelling by blending the emotion of lyrical dance with the bold energy of hip hop. Movement is driven by feeling and music, allowing dancers to express themselves fully with every beat.
