Let’s get ready to meet James Hill The Captain of the team.

Why did you start Buhurt: A good place to be a part of a team. The brotherhood of it all. But really it started in 2011 when I got my lip split open by a foam boffer. Started out LARP but found my way to Buhurt.

What makes you keep coming back: Good times. Great team. It’s an awesome way to have “therapy” with all of my friends.

What’s your favorite weapon to go into the lyst: I like to run my small axe named “Mogen” and my Buckler

What type of kit do you run: Russ Mongol

Who’s one of you favorite team mates to fight against and with: Fighting against… on my team, I would have to say Daniel. He pushes me to move around and work a little harder. Favorite person to fight with is easy. Martti because he and I work exceptionally well together.

What is your role on the team and how do you feel about it: I am the team Captain, recently voted in by my peers. I’ve always been a bit of a leader on the team but with the official title it’s certainly has a bit more gravity. I care deeply about the team and want to make sure everyone is supported and that we work hard together to be a competitive team. I am grateful for everyone that puts in the work.

What’s your choice of drink: Water lately. It’s been too hot. But I used to really enjoy a white monster. I also enjoy good old fashioned Root Beer

Do you have any hidden talents or unusual hobbie? Pretty sure Buhurt counts as an unusual hobby. As for talents, I wear many hats and really enjoy helping people.

Whats your go to karaoke song: I don’t goto Karaoke. The last one I did years ago was a Charlie Daniel’s song, Devil went down to Georgia.

Hi I am Sam and recently I was given the role as Equipment Manager and I am excited and ready to take this on but here is a little about me:

I joined Buhurt because I was looking for an upgrade from SCA. I keep coming back because this team has a great sense of community and for the fun and thrill of the fight.

If I had to choose a favorite weapon to go into the lyst with I would have to say a two-handed sword or falchion.

Now on this team we are a big family but if I had to pick one team mate to go into the lyst with it would be Justin (The Fighting Shrimp) and the team mate I don't like going up against is James (Ent 1).

On a fun note Pineapple does go on pizza and I cant resist a GOOD margarita, to get on my good side throw snacks a me like a white Monster or some cool ranch Doritos.

Great to meet everyone, cant wait to see you at the next fight.

In just 2 days, we will be hosting our monthly 2nd Saturday Knight Slam.

We are happy to announce that we will be having a meet and great with some of our fighters. As always, we will have a donation snack table with treats and drinks, donation from this Saturday Knight Slam will be going to help us make a new lyst for the gym.

All ages are welcomed to come and watch the fights; this is a free fun event. Can't wait to see y'all This Saturday.

THE NEXT BATTLEFIELD IS REVEALED.

The road to glory has a new destination. The International Medieval Combat Federation is proud to officially announce that the 2026 World Championship will be held in DENMARK.

Our arena will be the legendary Spøttrup Borg, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Europe, located near Skive in Jutland.

But this is not just a tournament. It is a true medieval festival.

The championship will be held alongside the renowned Bispens Market, a massive, authentic medieval market that will be running at the same time. This will be an huge experience for fighters and viewers!
