Change of plans for tonight and keeping it local. It’s Veterans Night at Brownstown Bullring and (Ret) US Air Force MSgt Doug Tye will be wheeling the 4D Super Late Model around the track. In addition it’s Carnival time at the storied Fayette County Fairgrounds. Bring out the kids for the rides, games, and corn dogs.

I’ve seen a lot of things in my life. 21 years as an Aeromedical Evacuation Crew-Member in the US Air Force was crazy. I’ve been to places and seen things that nobody should ever have to experience. When the Sh$t hits the fan in war you find out real quick who you want in your foxhole. I have to give Ernest Fontes a Commendation Metal with Valor. After junking my chassis at Thunderbird in Muskogee it was going to be a long tough road to make it back on track in 6 days. Ernie was with me every step of the way. Long hours and a ton of work to strip down one car and assemble everything on a new chassis. We did it. Huge thank you to Ronnie Stuckey and his family for taking us in and giving us the shop space to make it happen. Thank you to Mr BJ Robinson for getting us the parts and pieces and room to get it back together. I made a few mistakes in putting it back together that caused us to top out the rear shocks and lose traction. We broke something in the transmission that took us off track Saturday night. But all in all, I’m happy with with where we started and where we finished in a weeks time. I’ve got a ton of things to catch up on back at home and business, but hope to make it to Brownstown Bullring Friday night.

We’ve still got about two hours of little things to get the car in the right condition. It’s 715 now, we’re not going to push the envelope to try and make practice. We will be at Crowleys Ridge tomorrow.
