While in the keys, we decided to book a offshore charter.
I am gonna tell you about my experience and let you decide to book with them,or not....
We booked the charger on a boat called the high-class ho**er.
When we arrived 15 minutes late. And saw the boat we were so excited. The boat was phenomenal huge awesome interior air conditioning bathrooms bunks the whole nine yards. The boat was clean on the outside and inside everything looked good.
Now, even though I was the one paying the bills, and book the charter, the captain never introduced himself to us. There was five of us on the charger, 4 adults and 1 teenager. The first mate smelled like booze and seemed to have an attitude with me the entire trip. I can't recall if the first mate introduced himself to me or not.
We started out trolling in 150 foot of water we're quickly we hooked up with a very small Bonita. The mate threw it back with no pictures being offered because he said it was a s*** fish. Then we wound up in 600 ft water where we followed some birds for about a half hour. The captain absolutely butchered the w**d lines I noticed that we were running right through the grass mats. The mate was always trying to get grass off of the lines.
This is where my wife hooked up with a small barely legal mahi. They put her in the chair gave her the ride and she went to work. 5 minutes to real in a barely legal fish. Meanwhile the captain never stopped the boat never stopped rolling. So it took her 4 minutes longer than it should have to bring in this chicken dolphin.
Then we were heading back in and in 180 ft water we hooked up with another Bonita who quickly went right back overboard as it was being called as s*** fish. This time I happened to get a picture of my brother with the fish.
$1,200 later with only one small mahi we were exiting the boat. Again no high five and shakes or apologies for not getting fish. No offer of bumper stickers t-shirts anything of that nature. Still no introduction from the captain. I will not be going back to the high-class ho**er as a charter.
