My name is Tim Prince and it is my intention to seek election for the office of Dade County Sheriff in the 2012 election. Being a lifelong resident of Dade County, I graduated from Northwest Georgia High School in 1984. I reside in the Rising Fawn community with my two sons T.J. In 1990, I made the decision to pursue a career in law enforcement and began working with Marion County Sheriff's Depart
ment where I am currently a Sergeant. Over the years I have had the opportunity to explore other career fields; however my interest remained in law enforcement. I believe strongly in community oriented policing where the public is informed and educated on current issues and concerns; because just like you I have a vested interest in this county. Methamphetamines and pills continue to destroy families at an alarming rate; sadly enough, there are few families today that can honestly say that they have not been affected by the drug commonly known as Meth. It is my plan to train the officers seek out these methamphetamines laboratories identifying the components, safetly disposing of them, and prosecuting the offenders. It is senseless to stand idly by expecting another agency to make a difference in your problems. Another issue that is alarming to me is the growing availability of alcohol and /drugs to our children within the school system . I feel that our children are our future and it is our duty to protect them from anyone or anything that poses a threat to them. I agree saying "kids will be kids " however it is our responsibility as adults to step up and be parents and educators supporting our school system in fighting what can potentially destroy our youth. Lastly I feel that the Dade County Sheriffs Department should be lead by example both ethically and professionally. With that said, I would appreciate your support in the upcoming election.
