In case anyone needs local (Traverse City) grief/cancer/depression resources, including virtual resources and workbooks - I just compiled them for someone else so I want to share:
988 - 24/7 mental health line - great for those moments of insurmountable grief - just like 911 but for emotional health
Local resources
Michael’s place - grief and loss hub. There’s a counselor there named kristy Spencer that I worked with at hospice and she’s awesome. She will have about a million more resources. All of them are grief specific. 231-947-6453 - I would call and see what books and groups she recommends
Crisis welcoming center - open 6am-midnight daily. 105 hall street. You can just pop in, no appointment, and talk to someone. Seriously the friendliest staff ever. Most definitely use this resource
