My first Bagger 1981. Loretta Barger sold it to me at Barger HD in Canoga Park CA. She asked me before I bought it “are you sure you want a touring bike? I mean you are a little young”. Haha it makes me laugh now. I was 21 and she was right. That bike was stripped down within the month and I ended up having what looked like a Road Glide. I still had my rigid frame Shovelhead so I wanted something to ride with chicks that was more cushy for them. Now here we are 45 years later and settled down with my and steady girl.

Special birthday celebration today at Harley-Davidson of Glendale: Oliver Shokouh is 80 years old and still running the shop. I bought the “Renegade Softail” from the showroom floor in 1992. It was on a lift right in front and had custom flame paint done by Damons. Apes and dual exhaust sealed the deal and within six months, that bike became the picture vehicle on “Renegade” and set the tone for Harley customs for years to come. Joining me were longtime friends Robert Patrick, Emily Shokouh, Zeke Unger, Neil Fischer, and several riding friends I’ve known for over 30 years! Some BOOZEFIGHTERS and UGLY’S helped to round out the crowd. Happy birthday, buddy. Here’s to another 30!

Guest of the 101 chapter yesterday. Remembering those that gave the ultimate price for our freedoms here in the USA and around the world. The Boozefighters motorcycle club is one of the oldest clubs in America. Started by veterans of WW2 in 1946 and continuing the tradition of supporting our veteran charities throughout the globe.
