NiJaree Canady made history...

NiJaree Canady became the first African American female college softball player to sign a NIL deal over $1 million — $1,050,024 through the Matador Club at Texas Tech, with $24 representing her jersey number.
But the deal wasn't the story. What she did next was.
Pitching through a torn hamstring, NiJaree finished the season 33–5 with a 0.90 ERA — the most wins of any pitcher in the country. She led Texas Tech to its first Big 12 regular season and conference titles, then pitched every single inning at the Women's College World Series.
This wasn't an overnight arrival. In high school she went 21–0 with a 0.26 ERA. At Stanford she led the nation with a 0.57 ERA as a freshman and won USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Her coach calls her the best pitcher he's ever worked with.
NiJaree Canady, 22, from Topeka, Kansas — didn't just earn a million dollars. She made space for every young girl who picks up a softball and wonders if someone like her belongs at the top.

Congratulations to Senior, Hara Del Castillo and Freshman, Avery Skinner for making the All-City Girls Swim Team!

DEL CASTILLO earned All-City honors for the fourth straight season as the Trojan senior won the city title in the 100-yard
backstroke and finished third in the 50 freestyle. Del Castillo finished second in the Centennial League titles in the 100 backstroke and finished fourth in the 50freestyle, earning first-team all-league honors. Del Castillo competed in two events in the 6A state meet last weekend.

SKINNER won the city individual title in the 500 freestyle and finished second in the 100 backstroke to earn her place on the All-City first team. Skinner finished second in the 200 free and 500 free in the Centennial League meet to earn a spot on the
all-league first team.
