I often find that some of my most valuable leadership lessons come from observing my children. Take my son, Oscar, for example. He has been dedicated to playing soccer since the tender age of 5. Last year, as a high school freshman, he secured a spot on the Varsity soccer team. This year, his sophomore year, decided to test his skills in football as a kicker. Remarkably, he swiftly advanced to the Varsity level in this new sport as well.

This past weekend marked his debut in attempting extra points after touchdowns, and he impressively scored a flawless 4 out of 4! Reflecting on the bustling atmosphere during the homecoming event, I asked him if he felt nervous amidst the crowd's thunderous cheers. Oscar's unwavering response was, "No, I wasn't nervous. I was confident in my abilities, and failure was simply not an option." At just 15 years old, his resolute mindset serves as a reminder that the key to realizing our aspirations lies in cultivating the right attitude.

Truly, his determination and self-assurance exemplify the essence of believing in oneself to conquer challenges and turn dreams into reality.

Had an inspiring session today with the Dairy Farmers of America group, dug into the essence of success and its personal significance to each member. Emphasized the importance of setting clear goals and the unwavering commitment needed to achieve them.

Also, explored the power of influencing others positively, fostering a ripple effect of motivation and growth.

Don't burn out your team! If you grant your team Paid Time Off (PTO), ensure they fully benefit from it. Avoid contacting them for work-related matters or tasks during their time off. Allowing your team to disconnect, recharge, and prioritize personal well-being is key to maintaining productivity and motivation. Similarly, respect their weekends as valuable time for family, hobbies, and relaxation. Encouraging a healthy work-life balance ultimately enhances team performance and overall satisfaction.

Another fantastic book! "Becoming Bulletproof" was absolutely incredible and left me feeling unstoppable. Evy is an absolute powerhouse, and her resilience is truly inspiring. The book is packed with insights on leadership, communication, and negotiation, all beautifully intertwined with storytelling. It's a must-read. I'm eagerly anticipating meeting Evy in person at Advisors Excel's Inspiring Women event this October.
