There seems to be a lot of confusion out there, so let’s clear this up 👇
Competing at the NJCAA level DOES count toward your overall college eligibility when you transfer to a four-year school. Our Mens AND Womens Head Coaches are both former JUCO Head Coaches and support/recruit JUCO wrestlers.
Student-athletes get a limited number of years/seasons to compete, and those seasons don’t “reset” just because you move on from a junior college. Time spent competing at the JUCO level is part of your athletic clock.
That said, junior college can still be an incredible opportunity — to develop, get exposure, improve academically, and earn a chance at the next level. Just make sure you understand how eligibility works so you can plan your path the right way.
If you have questions about eligibility, talk to your coaches, compliance staff, or do your research early. Don’t let misinformation cost you opportunities.
