The weekend didnāt end the way we hoped, but weāre incredibly proud of what this group accomplished.
The 8U State Line Stars finished pool play 1-1-1 and earned a spot in the bracket before the rest of the tournament was unfortunately canceled due to weather.
ā¾ Game 1: Tied the very solid Oakland Chargers
ā¾ Game 2: Battled a talented Motor City Hit Dogs team
ā¾ Game 3: Closed out pool play with a 14-3 win over the Midland Explorers
What stands out most isnāt the recordāitās the way this team played together. Every single player contributed this weekend. Big hits, key defensive plays, aggressive base running, encouraging teammates, and doing whatever the team needed in the moment. It was truly a complete team effort.
The boys were disappointed they didnāt get the chance to take the field today, and honestly, so were the coaches and parents. But sometimes Mother Nature has other plans.
What weāll remember most from this weekend are the moments in between: the laughs at the hotel, cheering each other on, the friendships growing stronger, and the memories made together.
We didnāt get our shot today, but we earned the opportunity to have one.
Proud of this group and the way they represented the State Line Stars all weekend.
Rain may have ended the tournament, but it couldnāt wash away what this team accomplished this weekend.
