We've heard from a couple of people who had tuned in to watch our event in Des Moines this weekend, but believed there were technical difficulties because it wasn't showing. What actually happened was we extended the off-camera meet and greet at the beginning of the program, and the presentations started a little later than originally scheduled. Apologies for any confusion- but for those interested, you can watch a replay at the link below. Simply fast forward to about the thirty one minute mark (31:10) using the slider at the bottom of the video screen, and you can see the entire presentation from there. (And there is a little bit of a glitch with the first few minutes of Quinn's audio during his portion of the Q&A, but stick with it- he's only muted for a couple of minutes of the recording.)

This was such an enjoyable event- I'm very proud and so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of it; to talk a little about what we're trying to do in Tipton, and help share the Holbrook story to a new audience in Des Moines. Once again, a heartfelt thank you goes out to Dayna Chandler, Black Girls Do Bike: Des Moines, and Hope+Elim for hosting us.

I hope that some of you who couldn't attend in person and weren't able to watch live will take the time to watch the replay. And those who have seen it, or were there- please let us know what you think. What are your thoughts on what we have going, and what would you like to see more of in terms of programming, presentations and outreach (in and out of Tipton) as we continue moving forward with fundraising for some of our projects? We're still hard at work and determined as ever, with many good things yet to come!

I just want to take a minute to say thank you again to Black Girls Do Bike Des Moines, Hope + Elim Church, Dayna Chandler and all the hard working volunteers that hosted us today for our "Shoulders of Giants" event, and thank you to everyone who came out to join us. It was by all accounts a resounding success- and on behalf of the Frank "Kinney" Holbrook Memorial Society we are thrilled and so grateful for this outpouring of support.

We’ll have a few more items to add later today, and the auction runs through Saturday at 4:00- so be sure to get your bids in and check back often. All proceeds will benefit the Ann Early Intervention Foundation to assist families impacted by Alzheimer’s, and the Holbrook Society as we continue fundraising for a statue, scholarship, and youth programming in Tipton.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: We're having another fundraiser, with a live screening of the Quinn Early documentary "The Shoulders of Giants" Saturday, February 19 in Des Moines. This is a great chance to introduce the incredible story of Frank "Kinney" Holbrook to a new audience, and to engage with our central Iowa friends!

What's more, the event and silent auction will also be streamed online- so anybody can take part from near and far.
