Some experience and tips from this past week's outdoor adventures. Lots of extra snow after the recent 20 inch storm here in the Whites and plummeting temperatures to the teens and single digits Fahrenheit.

This post is focused on where to find fuel materials in the forest where heavy snow cover makes it impossible to find more common combustible materials such as straw and dry brush

Here's a the complete sequential video of the cold weather test performed earlier this month comprising the previous clips. This provides better continuity from before but is an 8+ minute video.

Also, it was difficult to see the fridge thermometer on the video. It read "35" degrees F, or "REF" zone on the printed face of the thermometer scale.

After the storm this Sunday, I plan to go out again for more product testing. Temperatures in Thornton NH expected to be single digits degrees F. Hopefully the phone camera still works.

Introducing high-efficiency beeswax fuel elements as a natural alternative to gaseous or liquid fuels. These fuel elements are in stable solid form so do not require a container and are also waterproof. Each single-use element only weighs 0.6 oz. These are designed for a fast intense and uniform rate of combustion and work very efficiently in the presented pot design.

See product listing for additional details, features & benefits.

Here is a great example of the the high efficiency of using ChimneyPot(TM) in mild conditions (approx 60F). This video demonstrates boiling one cup of water in less than 2 mins after igniting and placing the pot over the stove.

The new beeswax fuel elements have been carefully engineered to extract all of the combustion energy in the beeswax over a period of about three minutes. Beeswax actually has quite a high energy density, similar to propane on a weight basis. The only reason why people haven't used it this way before is because beeswax typically burns very slow, especially if in the form of a lump mass, such as a candle. However, if engineered properly, the air to fuel ratio can be optimized for a higher mass of the beeswax over shorter periods of time. This involves a design that encourages rapid vaporization of the solid fuel. This design is currently patent pending.

The best part of all...No fossil fuel, No canisters AND we help promote honeybees!
