We spent the day at the beautiful Palmer Motorsports Park instructing yesterday, bringing along the Fiesta ST for its first track day.

The morning was a little hectic—in the best way. I was bouncing between a previous student in his Miata (his first time running Palmer CCW), my new student in a CTS-V, and getting both of them out for ride-alongs in the FiST.

By noon, I was smoked. 😂

During my last ride-along, I noticed the exhaust sounded "off". We brought the car in and found the flex pipe had separated from the cat-back.

Cue about 45 minutes of laying on my back at the track trying to get the damn thing back together. It was rusted in place good—and apparently, nobody at Palmer had a big enough hammer. 😂

A 5-minute job at home with the right tools and some heat. At the track? Not happening.

But honestly, we ran the Fiesta hard all day, and that was the only issue we had.

I'll call that a major success for its first day out. 🏁

Got it fixed up this morning with a brand-new 3" coupler. Back to being spicy. 🧡🔥

We’re adding a street-legal Fiesta ST to the stable—stock, mostly 😉. This one will stay street legal and serve as my personal track day and instructing car. No wheel-to-wheel racing for this one. Just another tool to help make dreams come true and introduce new drivers to real race tracks in a well-sorted, easy-to-handle car.

There’s a method to the madness, too. Both this car and the Purple Reign Focusiesta share the same engine, transmission, axles, hubs, wheels, and wheel bearings- easy to stock spares.

Driver Spotlight: Rob Crowson 🏎️💜

Rob has piloted the Purple Reign Focusiesta in every single Lemons race we've entered—and the idiot still keeps coming back for more.

He's fast, dependable, always willing to lend a hand, and one of my favorite people to have around... on/off the track a genuinely good person.

We love plain vanilla bean ice cream and glazed donuts.

Watching the timing, listening to the radio, staying ready. In endurance racing, your job doesn’t stop when you climb out of the car. You’re still part of the team—and your next stint could come at any moment (but preferably as planned 😜). 🏎️🏁💜
