🏁 First motocross races LIVE and up close: COMPLETE! 🏁

We headed down to Ironman to cheer on our friend Ethan, who races motocross and holds a pretty special place in the snocross community. On our regional circuit, Ethan leads Bible study and says the pre-race prayer, so getting to come support him at his own race was extra special. ❤️

And while we were there to cheer Ethan on, we obviously had to soak up some of the other pro racing! 😎 Tucker was already bummed that Sexton has been out all season, and he has a whole list of other favorites to keep track of. Then Kitchen got eaten alive by the Godzilla Hill early in Moto 1… which was a major bummer! 😬 But we still got to watch some EPIC racing, and Mom was pretty stoked to finally see Dangerboy Deegan live! 😂🔥

It was a HOT, sunny, absolutely beautiful motocross day! ☀️ We walked the pro pits, checked out all the bikes, and even got to meet some of the racers. Being in the pro pits without our trailer, though, was a VERY different experience. 😂 No stressing over race numbers, checking the schedule every five minutes, hauling gear, or figuring out when we needed to be at the line.

Just… being spectators.

Tucker's official review? “Weird.” 😂

For once, we got to sit back, watch, and actually enjoy the races without having a job to do. And honestly, I'm torn if it was more enjoyable or not.. definitely less stressful tho 😂

So glad we got to make the trip, support our friend, and experience motocross in person. 🏁❤️

Now if only snocross could somehow bring this kind of crowd, energy, and passion from the spectators… GOALS. 👀🔥

What a day in Indy! 🏁🏛️👟

We packed A LOT into one day! Started off touring the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, taking a lap around the track and, of course, kissing the bricks! 🏁 Such a cool experience to actually be out on the track. Seeing all the different race cars and how they’ve changed through the generations was really cool too. We even got to try a race driving simulator!

Tucker, however, apparently had a slightly different simulator experience. 😂 He didn’t even get a lap time for the entire race because he spent more time crashing and losing tires than actually being on the track. 🤦‍♀️😂 I’m thinking he may need a little more practice before we hand him the keys to a real race car!

Then we headed to the Medical History Museum and got a little glimpse into the beginnings of psychiatry and modern medicine, when they were working to uncover the physical causes of mental disorders. It’s the oldest surviving pathology building in the country… which was WAY cooler to Mom than it was to Tucker. 😂 He was officially not impressed with the preserved brains. 🧠😳

Next stop: the Soldiers & Sailors Monument! We made our way to the top observation deck for an awesome skyline view of Indy. Then, because apparently we enjoy making questionable decisions, we decided to take the 330 stairs back down. 😂 By the bottom, our legs were basically JELLO.

We finished up with a walk along the canal, but between the heat, hunger, and exhausted legs, we cut that adventure a little short and headed to The Eagle. And WOW… that fried chicken with hot honey was 🔥🔥🔥!

I hope one day Tucker fully realizes just how awesome it is to travel, explore, and experience historical and iconic places firsthand. For now, I’ll keep dragging him around and making memories. 😂❤️

I’d say we had a pretty dang good day exploring Indy! 🏁❤️

We're traveling for motocross races this weekend, and you know the rule when Mom is there, we have to stop at all the places!!

Today, we went to URANUS. 🤣💀

I didn't realize Uranus was such a welcoming place! They invited us in, asked if we wanted our fudge packed, and then politely directed us to the exit… in the rear. 😂😂😂

The jokes literally wrote themselves. I didn't even have to try. 🤣

But the absolute highlight was watching Tucker understand WAY more of the Uranus humor than any 10-year-old probably should. 😳😂

At this point, I'm not even blaming myself.
I BLAME THE OLDER SNOCROSS BOYS. 😂😂🤷‍♀️
because apparently Tucker is now fluent in Uranus. 💀

Motocross weekend hasn't even started yet and we've already been to Uranus, gotten our fudge packed, and exited through the rear. 😂😂

THIS!!! 👏💯

Nobody prepares you for the part of motocross that has nothing to do with motorcycles.

You start out thinking you’re taking your kid racing.

Then somewhere along the way, you realize racing is taking your entire family with it.

Your weekends disappear.

Your garage becomes a shop.

Your truck becomes a hotel.

Your calendar becomes a race schedule.

Your bank account develops a sense of humor.

You learn how to change tires, chase electrical problems, bleed brakes, rebuild things you didn’t know could be rebuilt and diagnose a bike by a sound that nobody else can hear.

You learn every bump in the road to the track.

You learn what your kid looks like when they’re nervous.

You learn when they’re actually scared and when they’re just pi**ed off.

You learn that sometimes they need a mechanic.

Sometimes they need a coach.

Sometimes they need a dad.

And sometimes…

they need you to shut the hell up.

That’s the part nobody tells you.

You can spend thousands of dollars, countless weekends and an unbelievable amount of time trying to give your kid an opportunity—

and at the end of the day, you can’t ride the bike for them.

You can’t make the pass.

You can’t hold the throttle open.

You can’t take the crash.

You can’t want it for them.

All you can do is build the best damn foundation you can…

then stand on the other side of the fence and watch.

That’s motocross parenting.

It’s expensive.

It’s exhausting.

It’s terrifying.

It’s frustrating.

It’s unbelievably rewarding.

And somewhere between the first practice and the last bike getting loaded into the trailer, you realize something:

This was never just about racing.

This is our life.

These are our stories.

🏆🏁👏 what will this year have in store?! 🤔

The three peat is complete !

Tucker Atkinson claimed his third straight 120 champ division championship. Atkinson won the championship by 51 points. He is the only rider to have won the same championship in all three years of MSX.

He has been in contention for other championships over the last couple years. Can he make it four straight years winning a championship? What division would it come in? We will find out sooner rather than later!
