Water hazards are everywhere — pools, lakes, bathtubs, even buckets. But don’t worry… let water safety start with the child.
Knowing how to self-rescue is essential.
Teaching kids (as young as 6 months) the life-saving skills to roll over, float on their back, and breathe while waiting for help gives them the ability to survive if they ever find themselves in the water unexpectedly.
This is one powerful layer of protection in the fight against drowning. Combine it with constant adult supervision, barriers/fences, and CPR knowledge for the strongest defense.
No child is drown-proof, but self-rescue skills can buy critical time.

When choosing swim lessons, make sure they teach THE FLOAT.
Knowing how to swim is not enough!
In a real accident, kids can tire quickly, panic, or end up in the water fully clothed. ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) always prioritizes teaching children — starting as young as 6 months — the critical self-rescue skill of rolling over to float on their back. This allows them to rest, breathe, and conserve energy until help arrives (or they can continue swimming to safety).
It’s the foundation of the famous swim-float-swim sequence that can truly save lives.

No one is ever drown-proof — not kids, not adults. 💦
But there are simple, life-saving steps we can teach our children (and remind ourselves) to stay safer around water:
• Always ask an adult before jumping or entering the water — make sure they see, hear, and give the okay!
• If your child is in the water, YOU are in the water (or within arm’s reach providing active supervision — no phones, no distractions).
• Enroll in swim lessons that teach essential survival skills: how to float on their back, roll to find air, and self-rescue if they fall in unexpectedly.
• Never swim alone — use the buddy system, and this goes for adults too! Even strong swimmers need someone watching.
Drowning is silent and fast. Close, constant supervision + water competency skills + layers of protection save lives.

🚨 Phones down, eyes UP—this is the reminder we all need.
Drowning doesn’t wait for ‘swim time.’ Nearly 70% of young child drownings occur during non-swim times—when kids wander in unexpectedly, often in seconds of lost supervision. It’s silent, fast, and heartbreakingly common.
One layer isn’t enough. We need MULTIPLE layers of protection:
✅ Door alarms & high locks to prevent unsupervised access
✅ 4-sided pool fences with self-closing gates
✅ Remove ALL toys from the pool area after play— no temptation!
✅ ISR Self-Rescue® swim lessons: Teaching even young kids to roll over, float, and survive until help arrives
Active supervision + these barriers = real prevention. Let’s protect our littles every single day, not just at the pool party.

Spring break swimsuit shopping time! 👙✨
Before you hit ‘add to cart,’ remember: Swimsuit color can be a lifesaver.
Bright yellows, greens, pinks, and reds stand out underwater and from afar—unlike blues/greens that disappear or whites that look like reflections. Studies show these neon/bright hues make spotting someone in the water MUCH faster.
It’s just ONE layer of protection (along with constant supervision, life jackets when in open water, and ISR self-rescue swim lessons), but it’s an easy, no-cost way to boost safety.
Let’s make this spring break fun AND safe! Which bright color are you loving? Drop it below! 🌊🟡🟢🩷🔴

Jumping on the trend… 🏖️💦
My very first dip was at just 9 weeks old on a Florida vacation with my parents. Water has been part of my life ever since — the good, the splashy, the unforgettable.
Now I get to share that love and safety with the next generation by teaching ISR Self-Rescue® swim lessons. Teaching little ones the life-saving skills to roll, float, and swim-float-swim is the best job.
If you’re ready to give your child the gift of water safety, link in bio for more info and to register. Spots fill up fast — let’s make water a safe adventure for your family too! 🌊❤️
