Another vacation or retreat isn’t going to fix your burnout.
Don’t get me wrong, I love vacations and retreats, and think everyone should take them. I attend and host both myself. Recovery is as important as performance.
BUT, no one talks about the other side. When coming back actually makes you feel WORSE because you temporarily got away from the systemic issue and remembered what life could feel like without it.
The temporary reprieve doesn’t fix the long-term issue:
-A toxic boss
-A dysfunctional team
-Unaligned, soul-sucking work
-Patterns of overwhelm or sabotage due to sheer workload or lack of boundaries
-Feeling stuck or bored because you’ve outgrown your role
It takes a lot of deep work to fix these issues. Going through it first myself, and then with hundreds of other women is how I saw the patterns to create the GEMS (Genius, Expression, Meaningful Networks, Strategic Leadership Mindset) MethodTM for sustainable leadership.
But a Maven is willing to put in the work because she knows a thriving career where her gifts are valued - is not only possible - it’s her new standard.
