Eastern Arizona College Women’s Basketball Secures Win Over College of Southern Nevada
In a highly competitive matchup, Eastern Arizona College emerged victorious over College of Southern Nevada, with a final score of 66-58. The win came after a strong second-quarter surge by the EAC Monsters, outscoring their opponents 20-12 during that period, which set the tone for the rest of the game.
Eastern Arizona’s Sarah Deng played a crucial role in the victory, logging 36 minutes on the court. Deng contributed 13 points, going 5-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from the free-throw line, along with 4 rebounds.
For the College of Southern Nevada, Selina Gutierrez led the scoring efforts with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Saroiya Ajomale was another top performer, scoring 15 points while contributing 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
“Our defense really stepped up tonight, especially in the second quarter,” the coach stated. “We knew they were a tough team, but we stuck to our game plan and executed well. I’m proud of the way the team handled the pressure, especially coming off a tough stretch of games.”
With this win, Eastern Arizona College (14-3, 5-1) builds momentum as they head into their next set of conference games on January 15th against Arizona western (13-1,4-0). The team will look to improve their standing as they continue the season.
