Eastern Arizona College Women’s Basketball Secures Win Over College of Southern Nevada

In a highly competitive matchup, Eastern Arizona College emerged victorious over College of Southern Nevada, with a final score of 66-58. The win came after a strong second-quarter surge by the EAC Monsters, outscoring their opponents 20-12 during that period, which set the tone for the rest of the game.

Eastern Arizona’s Sarah Deng played a crucial role in the victory, logging 36 minutes on the court. Deng contributed 13 points, going 5-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from the free-throw line, along with 4 rebounds.

Eastern Arizona College Falls to College of Southern Nevada in Overtime Thriller

In a highly intense overtime showdown, Eastern Arizona College fell short against College of Southern Nevada, with a final score of 96-91. Despite a strong second-half comeback, the Monsters couldn’t secure the win in the extra period, as Southern Nevada pulled away with key baskets down the stretch.

The game saw College of Southern Nevada take an early lead, outscoring Eastern Arizona 42-36 in the first half. However, Eastern Arizona responded with a strong second half, scoring 48 points to force overtime. In the extra period, Southern Nevada’s defense held Eastern Arizona to just 7 points, securing the victory.

Eastern Arizona’s Armari Carraway led the team with 20 points, contributing heavily in the second half to keep the game close. Tarrance Warren was another standout for Eastern Arizona, scoring 23 points and grabbing 8 rebounds, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court.

“It’s always tough to lose in overtime,” the coach said. “But I’m proud of how the team fought back after being down at halftime. We showed heart, but there are some areas we need to clean up to finish games like this. We’ll learn from this and move forward.”

Eastern Arizona (15-2, 5-6) will look to bounce back in their next matchup, against Arizona western (12-4, 3-2) on January 15th as they aim to build on their strong second-half performance.

The Eastern Arizona College mens basketball team faced Harry S. Truman College, securing a dominant 90-50 victory. Led by Coach Turner, EAC’s offense shined throughout the game, with notable contributions from multiple players.

Kaden Ericksen: Impressed with consistent shooting and strong defense, contributing significantly to the team’s total.

Armari Carraway: Demonstrated leadership on the court, finishing with 19 points, showcasing impressive field goals.

JT Elder: Displayed defensive prowess and contributed 13 points, adding vital rebounds and assists.

Eastern Arizona College (EAC) dominated the game against Gadsden State Community College with a final score of 81-60. EAC displayed strong offensive performance, particularly in the second half, securing their lead and closing the game with authority.

The standout performers for EAC were JT Elder, who grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 11 points, and Armari Carraway, who contributed 14 points and 6 assists. EAC’s balanced scoring from both starters and reserves allowed them to control the game’s tempo and secure the victory.

On the opposing side, Gadsden State’s leading scorer was Mekhi Fitts, who posted 20 points, but his efforts weren’t enough to overcome EAC’s relentless pace.

EAC 15-1 (5-0) finished the weekend 2-0 in the news year classic. Their next game will be January 9 against college of southern Nevada.
