RAFFLE TICKET SALES END TODAY!

Today is the FINAL DAY to grab your tickets and support the Valkyries Fastpitch 12U softball team!

Tickets are just $5 each, and every ticket purchased helps support our nonprofit team with tournament fees, field rentals, equipment, uniforms, and other season expenses.

DRAWING UPDATE:
We will draw the winners and post the drawing right here on the Valkyries Fastpitch Softball page on Wednesday, September 2!

If you purchase tickets through Cash App or Venmo, we’ll send you a photo of your raffle tickets so you have your ticket numbers before the drawing.

The Valkyries are hosting an Open Practice and we're looking to add the final 2–3 players to our first 12U travel softball roster.
If your daughter is coachable, works hard, and wants to develop her skills while being part of a positive team culture, we'd love to meet her.

Parents, players, and coaches—we want to hear from you!

A few fun questions:

• What's your favorite softball drill to work on?
• If you could improve one part of your game, what would it be?
• Do you think private lessons have helped your player? Why or why not?
• What's one drill every young softball player should practice at home?
• If you had 30 extra minutes to train, how would you spend it?

There's no right or wrong answer. Every player develops differently, and we're always interested in hearing what has worked for other softball families.

Every team wants a great catcher. Very few players ever decide to become one.
It's one of the toughest positions on the field. You're squatting for innings at a time, blocking balls in the dirt, taking foul tips, learning to frame pitches, controlling the running game, and helping lead the defense. Catchers have to know what everyone else is supposed to be doing while still handling every pitch that comes their way.
The funny thing is, many of the best catchers didn't start out wanting to catch. They simply gave it a try.
If your player has never put on the gear, don't be afraid to let them learn. Catching can build confidence, toughness, leadership, and a deeper understanding of the game than almost any other position.
The softball world is always searching for catchers because so few kids are willing to step behind the plate. Sometimes the player who volunteers to try something difficult ends up becoming the one every team is looking for.
Respect the catchers. They're the heartbeat of the defense.
