BCP Lacrosse Molding Florida 🌴 Athletes Into Skilled Offensive Lacrosse Threats ⚔️

09/03/2026

You don’t need another fancy shot. You need a better angle. 🎯🥍

Anyone can learn a trick shot.

The real skill is creating the space and shooting angle that makes the shot available in the first place.

That’s why we train players to understand how to create shots, not just how to finish them.

First, you have to learn how to move the defender. 👀

A dodge isn’t successful just because you beat someone. It’s successful when your movement forces the defender into a position that gives you an advantage.

And that leads to the next piece…

Your feet create the opportunity your stick finishes. 🏃‍♂️💨

Change your speed. Change your direction. Attack the defender’s top foot. Create separation.

Now the defense has a decision to make.

And THAT decision can create your shooting window. 🎯

Here’s the layer most players miss:

The best shooters aren’t always the ones with the most shots. They’re the ones who consistently create the BEST angles.

Your footwork → dodge → separation → angle → shot should all connect.

That’s what makes a player dangerous.

Not doing something flashy.

Doing something effective. 🔥

Save this for your next workout and remember:

Don’t chase the fancy shot. Chase the advantage.

🚨 YOUR DODGE IS TOO HIGH.

Most players know they need to change levels when they shoot…

So why aren’t you doing the same thing when you dodge? 👀

The goal of changing levels isn’t just getting your body lower.

It starts with your stick placement.

When your stick stays above your chest, you’re giving the defender a pretty clean picture of where the ball is going. That high stick position gives you security, but it can also make your dodge easier to read.

⬇️ Now lower the stick.

Playing with your stick below your waist allows you to get underneath the defender’s stick, protect your hands, and create a different angle for your next move.

And that changes the entire feel of the dodge.

🔥 The best stick handlers aren’t just fast with their feet. They’re constantly changing the relationship between their body, their stick, and the defender.

Here’s another layer:

A defender can adjust to your speed.

They can adjust to your direction.

It’s much harder to adjust when your level + stick position + direction are changing at the same time. 🥶

That’s where your dodging starts becoming less predictable and way more elusive.

Think about it:

High stick → predictable picture.
Low stick → new angle.
Level change + low stick → problems. 😈

Save this and think about your stick placement the next time you work on your offensive skills.
