I recently injured myself in the dumbest way possible. I was at a water park and fell and landed funny (a lot of knee flexion & some valgus and immediately heard a pop). At the moment, I thought it was a ligamentous injury but it seems like it’s muscular in nature. Not that I care too much about the details tbh.
If I didn’t know everything that I know, I probably would’ve gotten imaging to figure out exactly what happened.
That alone would’ve probably lead to overmedicalization and overtreatment, both of which are unnecessary.
Thankfully, I can self manage this on my own so I thought it was a good idea to show others how you can treat this same issue on your own.
The same framework that I’m using for this injury can be applied to the vast majority of MSK injuries.
