☀️ ❤️ Sun Tea 💗 ☀️
I so love big jars of sun tea and moon tea. I bet this looks so pretty
There’s something about a jar of tea steeping in the sun that feels old-fashioned in the best way.
This blend is sweet, tart, floral, and refreshing. Hibiscus brings that bold ruby color and tangy bite, raspberry leaf gives it an earthy herbal base, rose petals soften it, marshmallow root adds a smooth touch, and orange peel gives it a little citrus lift.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup dried red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) leaf
• 1/2 cup dried hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) calyx
• 1/2 cup dried rose (Rosa spp.) petals
• 1/2 cup dried marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) root
• 1/4 cup dried orange (Citrus spp.) peel
Directions:
1. Mix the herbs together and store in a labeled, airtight container for up to 1 year.
2. To make the sun tea, add 1/2 to 1 cup of the herb blend to a 1-quart glass jar.
3. Fill with cool drinking water, cap, and let steep in the sun for no more than 4 hours.
4. Strain through layered cheesecloth or a fine-mesh strainer into a jar.
5. Chill before serving. Sweeten if desired and use within 24 hours.
Always do your research before introducing into your diet, especially if you have any underlying or pre-existing conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking medications.
