Just in case you were wondering….. “Gosh those baseball players must be so bored now that the Little League is over.” Uhmmmm, no.

We had time in between their soccer matches to ask how it feels to have 11,786 people stop them every 10 seconds at school…. at the library …. at the grocery store to talk about baseball.

They smiled: “Oh it’s fun. Everyone is so nice!”

In the background a group of younger kids whispered loudly, “Mom those are the famous guys from TV! We saw them on ESPN!”

And then they were off again, back to work as referees for our local University Place Soccer Club . These wonderful young athletes are staying busy, busy!

THANK YOU for guiding these young athletes, mentoring them, and teaching them that baseball is so much more than what’s on the scoreboard. 💯

✨You gave our entire community the most exciting reason to come together.

💥 You put Grit City on the map.

🔊 You gave baseball fans excuses to wake up early, sneak out of work for long lunches, and follow your game on a phone under a napkin at someone’s wedding 😂

🍗 $50 for wings, fries & cola at every watch party? Worth it. 🥤

🔱 $7 for a plastic trident after it got confiscated? Replaceable. 🔱

🍬 $3 for gum because we needed backup trident? Deliciously necessary. 😋

And then there are some things you simply cannot put a price on:

❤️ Watching this dream team take the 4,000 mile journey from T-Town to San Bernardino to Williamsport ✈️
❤️ Watching an entire state rally behind them 🌲
❤️ Watching families, friends, grandparents, aunties, uncles, neighbors, and complete strangers become one giant cheering section 🤝
❤️ Watching all the thrilling come-from-behind crazy moments that remind us why we love baseball so much 🔥
