Tabor Fire & Rescue is currently accepting bids for drywall repair and repainting work in our meeting room. Bids will be accepted until 8:00 PM on June 3, 2026.
All bids must include at least two references and proof of Iowa Contractors license and Insurance is required at time of bid submittal. Individuals or businesses interested in submitting a bid may schedule a walkthrough of the project by messaging this page directly or by contacting Tabor City Hall at (712) 629-2295.
Over the past several years, our meeting room has been rented for public use. Unfortunately, repeated violations of the rental agreement have resulted in damage to the facility. One of the clearly stated rules in the agreement is that absolutely nothing is to be hung from the walls or ceiling. Despite this policy, tape, tacks, adhesives, and other materials have caused extensive damage throughout the room.
In several cases, attempts were even made to conceal the damage using white spray paint. Photos of some of the affected areas are attached, although not all damage is easily visible in pictures.
It is disappointing that funds which should be used for critical equipment, training, and resources to better serve our community must now instead be directed toward repairs and repainting caused by misuse of the facility.
We respectfully ask that anyone renting the building in the future treat it with care and respect. This facility belongs to the community, and maintaining it is a shared responsibility.
