Our Mavericks started their last tournament of the year Saturday at Eastern Michigan University and played some of their best baseball to date!
Game 1 the boys came out firing on all cylinders at the plate, on the mound, and defensively on the field to win 16-8!
Game 2 was a heart breaker at the end but was probably their best played game all season! Lost on a walk off 11-10 in their hardest fought contest in 2025. Highlight of the game was an amazing triple play!
The Boys are playing the semi final today to have a chance to make it to The Championship! Root our boys on today as they give it their all to end the season out on top!
Player Notables
Lucas Lockard - Lucas fought through another injury yesterday. Pitched great game 1 to hold the lead. Went 4 for 7 at the plate! His bat is on 🔥 ! He will lead things off in our pursuit to win some hardware today.
Lukas Beebe - The Wrecking Ball had 2 more great defensive plays and had a big hit in Game 2 to start a rally to get back in the game. He also took another nasty hit by pitch and toughened it out again. Lukas OBP% continues to skyrocket.
Mason Smith - Mason continued his fantastic season going 4 for 5 at the plate and scoring 5 runs. He also closed Game 1 out on the mound to secure the win! Mason is the epitome of effort!
Grant Wernert - Grant also had a great day at the plate going 3 for 7. One of the hottest bats on the team. Also made a great play at SS as well! Grant’s lightning speed swiped 6 bags on the day.
Kellan Vincent - Kellan started game 1 on the mound and was fantastic, striking out 5 in 2-1/3rd innings, only giving up 2 runs. He was 1 for 3 at the plate, walking 4 times. He drove in a key RBI in game 2 to get us within 1 run in the 3rd inning.
Levi Alexander - Levi was a wall game 1 behind the plate. He went 3 for 6, driving in 3 runs on the day. Levi was part of our Triple Play in game 2, getting the last out at 1B. Levi has improved so much on the mound over the season. Coach Beebe and staff can’t wait to see his progression next season!
Chaz Gallagher - Chaz continues to break out of his slump at the plate, having another great day, going 3 for 6. Chaz was also the highlight real for the team’s triple play, making a great play at 3B having the awareness to step on 3rd and throw to 1st to complete it. Awesome job and “no pressure” Chaz!
Keyser Allen - Keyser switched to a lucky bat and broke his slump, going 3 for 6 at the plate! He also pitched 2 great innings and was on the hill when we turned 3! Keyser played great defensively as well. Awesome day Keyser!
Thorin Barbour - Thorin was the starting pitcher game 2 and pitched very well, striking out 2 batters at crucial times. He also had a great hit game 1 as well. Thorin continues to improve and gain confidence on the mound and at the plate.
Hunter Thornton - Hunter held is own in the outfield and as usual, worked hard backing up plays defensively like he has all year. He got on base 3 times yesterday, stealing 3 bags, and scoring a crucial run game 1.
We missed Connor and Dylan yesterday and hope Dylan feels better soon!
