Sycamore Youth Baseball’s In-House Recreational League Evaluation Day will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Sycamore High School Field House. Below are links to sign your player up for a timeslot. Timeslots range from noon to 3:30 pm. If you cannot make one work, feel free to send a message and we will make a note.

SYB can use parent volunteers to help in any capacity. We will need people to help check players in, assist with running drills, and act as independent evaluators. If you are able to assist in any way, please sign up or reach out.

Who should attend evaluations?

Coaches for this season, please plan to attend the full evaluation day if possible.

Players registered for

Futures (1st & 2nd Grade)
Minors (3rd & 4th Grade)
Majors (5th & 6th Grade)
Players currently registered in Rookies who want to try to “Play Up” in Futures this season.

Who does not need to attend evaluations?

Rookies (Age 5 - Kindergarten): a Tee Ball/Coach pitch league. No score is kept; the goal is for the kids to have fun. Teams are not divided by skill level.
Ponee (7th & 8th Grade): We currently anticipate one or two “Sycamore” teams for Ponee that will play in another community's league but practice and play home games in Sycamore. If we opt for an evaluation at this level, we will assess it after our final registration numbers are in.

What is Evaluation Day?

To help make the season as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved, we hold a player draft for all levels other than Rookies. To maintain parity and keep teams competitive, we ask that your player attend one of the assigned evaluation times before the draft process. This gives our coaches and evaluators an opportunity to assess your players' skill set.

The hope is to have the drafts completed within the week after the evaluations and have coaches in contact with players by mid-March.

Do you need to bring anything?

If your player has a glove, a bat, gym shoes, and a water bottle, that is all that is needed. We will also have additional bats and gloves, especially for younger players, available to borrow if needed.

We will be holding our annual Rec League Player Evaluations on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Sycamore High School Field House. We request that you sign up your player for an evaluation slot on this sign-up sheet to help everything run smoothly.

Do not miss out on the final days to register for Sycamore Youth Baseball’s Spring In-House League. Registration closes March 1, 2026. Things are shaping up for a great season on the ball fields. Please make sure your player is signed up today.

Once registration closes, coaches will be determined, and we will hold our in-house evaluation day on March 8, followed by a player draft the following week.

Sycamore Youth Baseball In-House Recreational League Spring Registration deadline is quickly approaching. Register your player today and don’t delay!

Early registration is open through February 21, 2026. On February 22, 2026, an additional fee applies, and any new registrations will be subject to availability as we begin planning for the number of players and teams on each level.

Make sure your player is registered so they have every opportunity to enjoy some exciting baseball this spring!

Rookies: 5 Years Old – Kindergarten

Futures: First & Second Grade

Minors: Third & Fourth Grade

Majors: Fifth & Sixth Grade

Ponee: Seventh & Eighth Grade

*Ponee will likely play as a Sycamore Team in another league.
