Fun new series for our mid-valley gamers!!

🏇 HONEST GAMING SERIES IS HERE! 🏇

I’m so excited to kick off our very first Honest Gaming Series!

Whether you’re just getting started, building confidence, or ready to run for the win, there’s a place for you!

This series was created with one goal in mind: bring horse people together in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can have FUN! Whether you’re chasing buckles or just looking for a fun place to ride, we’d love to have you.

DIVISIONS
⭐️ Lead Line ⭐️ For our youngest riders who need a helping hand around the pattern.

⭐️ Walk Trot ⭐️ Open to all ages, for riders who are comfortable at the walk and trot and are learning the events.

⭐️ Novice ⭐️ For riders building confidence, learning to lope the patterns, or riding a horse that’s still learning.

⭐️ Open ⭐️ For riders ready to compete with speed.

Sweet Home’s athletes had a great time at the State Meet!
The competition didn’t always go like we wanted, and we had some rough runs, but we still had a really fun time and the athletes showed a wonderful level of horsemanship and sportsmanship.
Drill Team ended up 9th place and looked awesome!
Canadian flag team ran the fast time of the weekend but ended up DQ’d with 2 on the line (by a horses chin hair). Their run was still phenomenal.
Kids and coaches had a great time dancing and hanging out at Cowboy Prom! 💃
Our season is officially over and we are so grateful for everyone that has supported us along the way.
Thank you Scio OHSET for being an awesome combo team and good luck at PNWIC!! 🎉 🏆

Third and final District meet of the year! Sweet Home did so amazing and we are headed to State!

Ranch Sorting - Hailey/Mya 5th place (2nd alternate for state), Lexii/Eva 9th place
Breakaway Roping - Hailey 1st place (Gold medal)
Canadian Flags - Hailey/Ruby/Eva/Lyndi 1st place (Silver medal)
Birangle- Ellie/Eva 8th place, Lexii/Mya 9th place, Hailey/Ruby 10th place (1st alternate)
Barrels - Hailey 2nd (Gold medal), Ruby 4th place (1st alternate), Ellie 10th place
Polebending - Ellie 3rd place, Hailey 7th place (Bronze metal)
Figure 8 - Ruby 6th place (Bronze medal), Ellie 9th place, Hailey (2nd alternate)
Flags - Eva 6th place (1st alternate), Ellie 7th place (Silver medal)

Friday, April 17th at 6pm is Senior Night at the Willamette OHSET meet - Linn County Fairground Calapooia Arena. Come on by and help us celebrate these awesome athletes!

⭐️ Athlete Spotlight! ⭐️

Lexii is a freshman at Sweet Home High School, and it is her first year on the Sweet Home team! She rides her horse Daisey and a borrowed horse, Scout, in gaming and cow events. She has placed really well in Canadian Flags, birangle, barrels, figure 8, individual flags, and keyhole at one or both meets. We are so excited to see her improvement through the season and into the coming years.

Eva is a freshman and it is her first year on the Sweet Home team! Eva rides her gelding, Miles, in gaming and cow events. She has placed really well in barrels, poles, flags and keyhole at both meets so far! And we cannot wait to see how far this talented lady can go!
It has been such a wonderful time having Eva and her family be a part of this team and are so excited for the years to come.

Ellie is a Sophomore and this is her first year on the Sweet Home team! Ellie rides her gelding, Nemo in gaming, cow events, and drill team. They are already State bound for Drill Team and have a chance to qualify in several gaming events as well. She placed in the top 5 for Canadian Flags and Individual Flags at both meets so far!

-- Rafe Hayes --
Rafe is a Junior at Sweet Home High School and this is his first year on the team! Rafe has only been riding and working with horses for a few months and has shown so much improvement through the season so far. He competes in the in-hand events with his horse Lainey, as well as gaming with his horse Eli. We are super proud of him for his continued dedication to the team, and for his increased confidence with every ride.
